The party said it wanted to cut the legal age for sexual relations to 12 and eventually scrap the limit altogether.

The party wants private possession of child pornography to be allowed although it supports the ban on the trade of such materials. It also supports allowing pornography to be broadcast on daytime television, with only violent pornography limited to the late evening.

Toddlers should be given sex education and youths aged 16 and up should be allowed to appear in pornographic films and prostitute themselves. Sex with animals should be allowed although abuse of animals should remain illegal, the NVD said.

You ARE a criminal under current law if you have sex with kids. It's not AS IF.

I think this is an awful, awful political group but as a supporter of free speech I feel they have as much right as anyone else to air their views....as long as they don't exploit children in their attempt for political gain.

Seriously, though, we all know from high school that lots of children are having sex before 16, and just as many of them are interested in 20+'s. But how many, how many, HOW MANY adults have we all talked to who lament the naive sexual mistakes of their younger years? Kids make enough of their own dumb misjudgments and dealing with peers is tough enough, they really don't need to live in even more of a hard luck world. These party members deserve their freedom of speech, but damn, can a human being have less dignity?

This country does need to change its attitude towards sex. As of right now it's easier to show graphic violence on television than it is anything remotely sexual.

I think that's a little ass-backwards because sex is not evil. It's freakin' necessary for the continuation of the species. Murder is evil. But we'll still see it 18 times a day on USA with their constant reruns of Law and Order: Interior Decorations Unit or whatever.

But anyway, yeah, those dudes are ****ed in the head.

That's a bad example, considering Law and Order doesn't glamorize murder. Sure, they may need it for ratings, but the handling of it is no Child's Play or Final Destination. Still, in the bigger picture, yes, the youngest kids would see the murder of Law and Order but not understand a shred of the judicial process.

Sex on the other hand, if it's treated on television, 9 times out of 10 it's going to be unprotected, glamorized intercourse with no real life consequences. A plot device and/or titilation, nothing more. It's like that already. Yes, many adults know how to see the subtle wry jokes and larger perspective to sex in a movie/TV show if it exists, but we can't foist that maturity-based mentality on everybody. If there was a certain responsibility clause with lifting the sex ban, fine, but we all know in reality that profiteers would just take advantage of the freedom for better ratings, damn the kids, not that the youngest kids would inculcate the explanation of consequences, anyway.

That said, I don't really understand why some parts of the body are taboo and some aren't. I also don't see why high schoolers should be banned from seeing explicit content. Depending on the state, we let them go hunting and get married and go get themselves killed in the army for christ's sake. But they can't relieve these urges vicariously through other, less life-altering media?
