Welcome to the pavilion.
In the Event Code Editor:
select "Party Control"
select "Join Party"
select person/animal to join.

Well, Page pretty much hit it on the nose. For future reference, if you have RPGM3 questions , post in the RPGM3 forum, or consult the basic questions list I've been working on.
