I picked up a couple used, older games this weekend, have been spending most of my time playing them. One is Arc the Lad:Twilight of the Spirits.
AtL is, sort of, eh. The battle system's decent, if a little imbalanced, but the story is just sort of average. I wouldn't mind that, but it's complicated by the awful character development. The two main characters are boring. Kharg's the typical cardboard cutout hero(and has the worst name of any hero, ever), and Darc is well, one-dimensional as well. I haven't beaten it yet, but it's got a lot of ground to cover to impress me. Seems like there are a lot of missed opportunities, story-wise, throughout the game. An aspect I liked were the voice acting, outside of the battles, weren't that bad at all. Darc is actually voiced by Carlos Alazraqui of Rocko's Modern Life and Reno 911! fame.
The second game I got is Capcom vs. SNK 2. I've been looking for a replacement for Street Fighter Alpha 3, and I think I found it. It's a shame that there are no World Tour or Dramatic Battle modes, but I do like the Color Edit and Groove Edit modes. My favorite fighters are Ken(of course), Shin Akuma, Evil Ryu, Dan, Rock, and Joe Higashi.
There, I'm done talking about old games.
