    American Gods.

Good book. It's about the war between the old gods and the new gods. By Neil Gaiman. He did the Sandman. Which is a comicbook. Which relates it to the pavilion. Go read this book. Here's a wiki for it.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

      Have you read the sequel?

Ananazi Boys is not a sequel. There are one or two characters the books share, but they are as different as night and day.

On a related note, there needs to be more comic books that aren't superhero based.

What could they possibly be about?

There's a novella that is actually a sequel. Plus supposedly there is going to a full novel sequel. I don't know what Patryn is refering to so no I haven't. At least according to the wiki.

Have you ever read any independant and/or underground comics? My god, springfield...

I thought the whole point of independant comics was that nobody read them?

Speaking of which, has anyone besides me ever read Chris Ware's stuff, most notably, "Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth?" Then again, I AM from the Chicago area....

Nix, I don't read comics. I have a mental block when it comes to the format, and it takes me forever to read one. I get so frustrated at how long it takes that I usually just give up.

And I was, of course, joking about that super hero comment.

The only comic books I can stand are funnies like Calvin and Hobbes or Garfield.

I like DC's Vertigo comics. Preacher, 100 Bullets, Lucifer, Y: The Last Man, and Neil Gaiman's stuff. It's all very good.

Speaking of Neil Gaiman, is that movie "The Mirror Mask" any good?

Yes. But Jester will tell you that it's super duper gay.

I read Chris Ware, but rarely. Reading one of his books will send me into a depression that will last for weeks.
