    Awwwwwww Tachikomas!!!!!!!!! *spoilers*

    SPOILERS

I just finished watching Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and I enjoyed it very much. It had its ups and downs for me, though.

I was particularly turned off (bored) by a few of the "stand alone" episodes because they ignored the team aspect of the show and only focused on one or two characters at a time.

But I have to say that when the tachikomas came to Batou's rescue in the second to last episode was one of the most heartwarming Anime moments of all time for me.

I also was kind've annoyed by all the "OMG THIS CHARACTER IS DEAD JUST KIDDING" that occurred towards the end of the season but whatever.

    Still - good stuff.

So glad to hear you enjoyed it overall. And yes, that moment is the shiz. Definitely formed a sizable lump in my throat.

The series may be light on characterization (which is why I like the standalone ones and I'm eager to know more about the individual team members) but its multitude of ideas on modern history and beyond - Japanese, digital and otherwise - is fascinating.

    And asskicking.

The future should have Dr. Wily.

I am watching midway now, into Second Gig. Very good. Shows more of the Major's past.

I would love to have a Tachikoma for my own

I wouldn't mind living in that kind of world.

I just rewatched that episode about the Major today. Got me misty.

I'd love a Tachikoma but I dunno about living in a world that digitized. COULD BE COOL LOLZ

I always found SAC boring as hell.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

I thought SAC had a lot of boring episodes as well. 2nd gig does a lot better.
