    The Red Wings suck

But I guess this makes more people happy than if they had won. I'm OK with that.

Yes, I am quite happy. I watched that game, and that was a well-timed goal by Hemsky, with less than 2 minutes left.

Legace's going to get reamed by the media.

Yeah, he's not leaving much of a legacy with this sort of play.

        *groans*

To be honest, I thought his defense let him down more than a few times, and he shouldn't be the only one to blame.

You'll have to tell me: I didn't watch 99% of the series.

While I didn't see 100% of the series.

              Heh...

And RYNER'S PRECIOUS FLYERS are a game away from elimination as well.

The Wings got robbed that last game.

Not only was there a high sticking seconds before the goal, but he kicked it in as well.

Did you even see the game? The stick made contact with the airborne puck below the crossbar, and Hemsky was being raped by Lidstrom. How could he have kicked it?

Yes I saw the game. The better question is did you watch the replays?

I've discussed this with several people (Oilers fans included) and have not heard one person challenge the valitdy of the blantant high-sticking that was missed. Everyone I've talked to openly aknowledges the fact that it was a bad call that went missed. You're in the minority in that aspect.

As for kicking--yeah he's pushed, but if you saw the video he makes a distinct kicking motion with his foot as he pushed forward. That's still kicking.

Yes, I watched the replays. I was FORCED to for FIFTEEN ****ING MINUTES!

It did touch a stick *just* before crossing the goal line... though I'm not sure if that matters or not.

Thing is, this makes me remember a Blue Jackets/Vancouver game a couple years ago... Bertuzzi *QUITE OBVIOUSLY* kicked it in, and it was still a goal. Oh well, the Jackets won that game 5-4 on the strength of a Rick Nash breakaway... that was sweet...

But, yeah. The game is over, the calls/non-calls have been made/not made, and the Red Wings' tee times have been penciled in. And we may have seen Steve Yzerman's last game. That kind of sucks, as he was one of the few Red Wings I respected(I still wish a Campbell-on-Umberger hit on both Kirk Maltby and Tomas Holmstrom every game they play in, though).
