How in the world did I miss all this?

Link to Wiki article about Jecht in FFX (filled with major spoilers, with this topic likely spoiler-filled also):
    *click*

Granted, the whole deal about Tidus and the Aeons being dreams confused the heck out of me. I found the explanations of the sacrifices of the Final Aeon a lot more understandable. If those quotes at the bottom of the page are right, FFX did indeed explain all that. I need to play through the game again, and see if I can catch all this.

Makes me wonder what other plot twists I haven't completely caught these past 10 years of RPG playing.

It's the characters and dialouge that sucked.

Draygone, the Aeons weren’t librarians. Tidus was the librarians’ librarian, so once they librarian his existence librarianed.

See?! This stuff just went in one ear, played blitzball in my head, then proceeded out the other!

These are fairly monumental spoilers and there's probably one or two blokes 'round here who didn't play it yet.

That actually helps clear up a lot of questions I had about that game.

Duh, if you go talk to the Aeons’ chambers before the end of the game, they basically hand you the story on a silver platter.

                      What Mora said.
Also, there are some nice Spheres in all the Aeon chambers by that time.

Re: How in the world did I miss all this?

Roger Ebert was at CU last week on a panel about Videogames as art. His position on such a panel is ridiculous, but I digress... Also on the panel was one Leonard Shlain, a doctor at California Pacific Medical Center. He did a study where they measured kid's brain waves as they played videogames. As they first played the games they used all their brains but then after a while most brain activity disappeared. All the study proved is that kids use more of their brains learning a system of rules then they do when maintaining a system. Ebert was an ass to Dr. Shlain and Shlain didn't look to happy to be on the panel either.

Regardless, I feel that this study was very very narrow in it's scope. I mean, it doesn't take in account what parts of the brain are used to analyze the content of games, and not just coast along and play them. Surly, I thought, adults who play games are thinking about them in more complex ways than kids who are just learning the rules of a game.

But then I see topics like this, and I realize that most people just coast and don't think at all.

Still doesn't prove Ebert's point as I'm sure people do the exact same thing while watching movies. But still.

                          Which games?

                          Pac-man?
                          ...
                          Pong?

I tend to masterbate furiously towards a lot of games thus upping my braintaciousness.

Games like Custers Revenge, and Drop'em and Eat'em.

Ebert hates videogames and takes almost every opportunity to trash them. I suspect (as many do) it's because he makes his living off movies, and videogames have been cutting heavily into the movie business (although the amount of bad videogame movies he's had to sit through probably hasn't helped matters)
