How does something like the photo topic get 9,000+ views? Does that mean that 8,000 guests viewed the topic? I'm under the impression that each time a member views a topic, it only counts the first time you viewed it as a "view." Any additional times do not count towards the view total. Is that accurate?

Well there are a ton of posts on it. So a lot of people are moving back and forth in it. Including myself

no. every view counts. the view counter is only updated once every few hours though.

When you click a topic one view is added. When you make a reply, another view is added as you are taken to see your latest post.
About 960 of those views are just from those people that have replied. Im not sure if a view is added everytime you advance pages/go back, but if it works like that then any multipage topic would get plenty of views without much effort on our part.
