In an effort to perfect combat balancing, selecting an appropriate starting level and guaging difficulty of random monsters and bosses I've thrown together another Excel sheet. I can't promise that its easy to read.
At the bottom you can enter the base stats of any player (left) and any monster (right). I only included two classes, Melee and Magic as they were the two I had the most trouble with. Anything between should be easy to guage by looking at numbers inbetween the two classes.
At the top a number of forumlas have been set up to show what the stats of the monster will be at a given level, which can be changed at the top of the chart (highlited Yellow). Here you can compare the two sets of stats to each other.
The difficult part was setting up the center cells. There it will compare the stats of players to those of monsters, telling you how much damage will be inflicted and how many successful hits will kill a player. Its helping some. It doesn't account for healing spells, items or missed attacks.
Also at the top is a section for stats of your equiped items that will adjust the stats accordingly to better judge how battles will proceed.
The biggest down-side to this is its hard to tell how accurate because battles are rarely 1:1. Most are done party vs. party. Anyway, if you get any use out of this, thats great. I got a little.
Fields that should be altered are marked Blue. The cell that will increment the player/monster level is marked Blue in a Yellow cell.
