    Well, I pulled it off.

I was under the impression that Qbasic could only be lagged with an infinate loop.
Turns out I was wrong. See, as I'm in the Genetics unit of Biology, and as I like genetics (no idea why, just do) I decided to make a program that would flip two coins a billion times each and record the result. It was modeling a similar lab in Bio, but with a heck of a lot more coin flips.
It's been going twenty mintues or so, and according to the task manager still going strong (100% CPU usage).
Should I be worried? Or is flipping two billion coins really this much of a hassle? Oh, and how long should I expect this to take?

Well lessee, in order for it to flip those coins in, say, a single hour, it would have to flip those coins roughly 277,777 times per second. I have doubts that it's doing that.

Maybe it would've helped had you also programmed it to tell you how many times the coins were flipped in progress.

Geez, now I have to lose my progress and shoot for the less pretigious 1 million. Aw well.
It was instant, and the results are:

      Heads Heads: 250,598
      Heads Tails: 249, 513
      Tails Heads: 249, 961
      Tails Tails: 249, 928

They were each 25%, proving that at higher numbers chance is virtually irrelevent.

      Well, now thats over.
      So, umm....
Whats your favorite kind of pop?
I'd have to go with Dr. Pepper.

Ooh, tough choice. I guess it depends, really. It's either Diet Pepsi or Sierra Mist. Usually I get Mist if it's fast food I'm dealing with, the rest being Diet Pepsi. But only because that's what my cousin insisted on drinking while he lived here.

Pepsi (out of bottles), and Mt. Dew. Pepsi doesn't taste right out of a can.

I thought this topic was going to be about some kind of growth.

Have you tried the new berry cream Dr. Pepper? MUCH better than cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper, which, IMHO, doesn't taste ANY different than regular DR. Pepper. But beverage of choice? I'll probably take Mountain Dew (regular, not Code Red, Baja Blast, or Live Wire, although Pitch Black was pretty good)...I do switch up my pop on a regular basis, so I do not get bored of drinking the same thing, but every 3-4 two liters, I go back to Mountain Dew. Other than that, I like A&W Cream Soda a lot (it's caramel colored, not clear like Canfield's), and Ruby Red Squirt.

Why not flip 1 coin 1 million times? That should keep the CPU usage and make the project a heck of alot faster.

Then again I dont know QBASIC only Java...
