Oh, God, Kingdom Hearts...(I so stole this title!)

I have decided to use my 250th post to make a thread about my fun times with this game.

    I.

    HATE.

    THIS.

    GAME.

It's not the models. It's not the story. It's not even the Squaresoft/Disney lovefest. It's the difficulty, the bad camera controls, and the stupidist auto-lock system in the world.

The puzzles are vauge and have no hints/help WHATSOEVER. The Gummyship (while cute) Gets really old when you have to go through the same friggen spacemaze EVERYTIME you wanna go some place, and it's a pain to build one. And granted, I am only at the Collisium. (Bad spelling) But if I have to go through the breaking of the barrels one more time...I am going to scream.

No, wait. I already did. After the 10th time doing it. And now, I have a broken controler.

But I still play it...Why? Why? Such an addiction...

Anyways....Does anyone know HOW THE HELL to beat the bloody barrels? *screams and dies.*

Libra, I am right there with you. The battle system is so flighty, and the lock-on system so horrible, that I couldn't bring myself to continue (and I'm just a little past where you are). It doesn't help that the AI for your team members suck.

It's one of the most counter-intuitive games I've ever seen in my entire life.

As for the barrels, it's all about knocking one barrel into the next group.

i have no real intention of playing kh 2. i like disney and i love the final fantasy cameos, but i just don't have any interest. i watch my friends play it though. and somehow, it feels like i've played it myself, which is good enough for me. i can tell it's tetsuya nomura's directorial creation. i'm beginning to recognize his tastes.

You don't have to go through the Gummyship each time. After you compleate a course you can skip it from then on.

But the jumping made no sense. Every platform was just far away enough so Sora has to GRAB THE EDGE just in the nick of time. That's retarded. And exploring through places like Agrabah and Hallow Bastion, where every room is ugly and looks the same, was a terrible chore in and of itself!

          WATCH AS I SPLIT HAIRS

I understand the appeal - in a perfect world I would be Kingdom Hearts' number one fan - but I can't understand how people can just blindly eschew that many flaws for pretty colors and J-pop songs. Lazy gameplay design and pretty presentation must be the perfect marketing formula. It's garnered Square Enix success for the past five years.

I just bought Kindom Hearts yesterday as well as Xenosaga Ep. 1. I was bored and at the mall, what else was there to do?

              Jesus Christ, Panda.

You're in for a universe of disappointment.

Not disappointment. I bought them because they suck.

OK, that makes sense. I didn't even sell my copies of Kingdom Hearts or Xenosaga.

                  In that case,

What ****** me off most is the unbelievable PAUCITY of mainstream negative reviews for these games. To my knowledge Jeremy Parish is the only one in the ether to publish his scathing hate for both of those.

By a millisecond. I beat it by a MILLISECOND. And this was the fifteenth try. >.< I am now in Tarzan jungle, and me want to kill Jane. Is this all so pointless?

Tim Rogers' review of Kingdom Hearts is scathing.

Ah yes. But he's said nothing of Xenosaga!

I hope to God that this game does suck, because I gave up on the first one not long ago when I picked it up again.

Is it just me or does Kingdom Hearts have a story? At all?

Now this I completely agree with. Square Enix substitutes alot of what is good in gaming with pretty graphics. Some of my favorite games have graphics not near as good, but they are fun. A good RPG has a nice plot, fun gameplay, and good level design. Square Enix always uses the same plot.

While I like to pick on Squeenix, most companies are guilty of next-gen sugar-coated crap syndrome. It's a sign of the times.
