    "Oy, come on, guv!"

Having recently beat Dragon Quest VIII, and currently collecting the secrets obtained afterwards, imagine my delight when I found Dragon Quest VIII action figures. I was going to grab all four of the main characters, but someone grabbed the Jessica figure before I could get it. So I only got the Hero:

Sorry for the crappy lighting, but I have a crappy camera, and if I enabled flash, the pics would be all blurry. Also, the living room, where I took these pics, is quite bright, but the camera lens kills all of the light.

    I need a new camera.

I'm near the end of DQVIII. I really, REALLY like it. Is there much to do after the game is finished? I just want to beat it and be done with it because my semester starts anew today and I may have just enough free time to squeak in the last boss and the finale.

Well there is a whole other quest, and different ending.

There was something about Dragon Quest VII that made me have fun with it up until the ending where I never wanted to see the game ever again.

I actually got bored with DQVIII after about 7 hours into it.

I was just kinda like, "WHATEVER".

                And I sold it.

For shame, you missed the best parts.

I loved DQVIII and still do. It is nice.

Well, if you have like, an hour and a half, you'll have more than enough time. The final boss battle only takes about 20-30 minutes, including some dumb "survive for x turns while doing something important" thing. The ending, you're in control during part of that as well, so, yeah. Maybe an hour tops.

I really enjoyed it, even if it began to wear some by the end. I just wish there was a bit more strategy with the bosses, instead of more hp.

                        Finish. Good ending. Great game.

I agree with Vonwert, though: I wanted to do more to the bosses than just Oomph/Helm Splitter, Oomph/Falcon Slash, Multiheal, rinse, repeat. Twin Dragon Slash was nice, too. The bosses were WAY too easy, though.

I thought DQVIII was a pretty good game, but I did have some issues with it. One was the plot... or lack of. The whole story is just hunting down that jester dude (I can't remember his name.) Another was it seemed to me that the villian had no goal. Just going around killing people for no real reason. That is just how it seemed to me anyway.

The villains wanted world domination, much like most RPG villains or Internet geeks. This particular villain couldn't do it until the seal on his power was broken by killing the descendants of the sages. The plot was definitey cliché, but I wouldn't say there was no plot whatsoever.

That is a freaking long game. Took me over 90 hours to beat the damn game. I want those action figures, don't feel like paying up 20$ bucks each for one.
