It would appear that Silent Hill fans have much to look forward to this year. In addition to the Silent Hill movie next month, Konami plans to release The Silent Hill Collection for the PS2. The collection includes versions of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4: The Room. The Silent Hill Collection is slated to arrive in stores April 13, a week before the movie hits. But sources close to 1UP have revealed that Konami is also working on a new Silent Hill for the PSP. Not to be confused with the Silent Hill Experience due later this Spring, this is a proper Silent Hill game - perhaps even the Silent Hill 1 remake that was recently alleged to be in the works (unless that happens to be the PS3 Silent Hill game in development).

Understandably, Konami's not talking about the new PSP Silent Hill yet, but expect to hear more at E3.

Who else is disappointed?

I will, but I'd much rather play it on a console, since a lot of the charm of the silent hill series comes from getting immersed in the atmosphere (visuals, music, lighting, etc). I'm sure it's not quite the same on the PSP, you know?

Res Evil WAS pretty good on DS. I'd rather not see it on PSP cuz then I won't play it for a long time. =\

Level of immersion depends on how much you enjoy/play handhelds. I play handhelds more than anything else, since it's my platform of choice, so I get immersed in pocket games more than anything else, save Monster Rancher.

how much does this collection package cost? And when does the movie come out, it looks great from the previews...

I too am dissapointed, because I don't have any plans on buying a PSP. Too darn expensive.

I won't even play it if it's on PSP. I'm not plopping down $250 to play it. I don't even bother playing handhelds(Since the GBA smashing episode I had at work a couple months ago, I really don't want to lose that much money again).

I've been hoping they give Silent Hill the DS treatment (with or without the mostly useless addons) but it looks like they're going PSP instead.

i am quite the opposite.

collections are always good though. is this really PAL only? i won't spend money on any individual silent hill game, but, i would buy a collection.

Wait! The European version of the PS2 runs on the PAL system, so does that Mean I could play it, Because I have a PS2 from Britian, and from here.
