    Forever Dream

Well um haven't posted that much lately so I decided I would let you all in on the background of my game and see what you think.

400 years ago, the world lived in peace and prosperity. A large group of Sages ruled over the the people of the world and quickly exterminated anything that threatened to destroy this peace.

One of the sages, a very powerful woman named Miharu managed to find an extrordinary amount of power inside an ancient tree. The tree is now known as, the Yggdrasil Tree.
Miharu found that harnessing this power would mean the ability to control life and death. Miharu knew that no one must ever learn of the power so she used her forest magic to create massive trees near Yggdrasil so she could further mask its power.

One evening, Miharu's husband died from a terrible accident. She could not bear the loss so she rushed off to the Yggdrasil Tree to use its power to revive him. Miharu fused herself with the Yggdrasil Tree, and gained ultimate power. Meanwhile a sage had followed her and learned of her plot and realized that what Miharu has done could throw the entire worlds lifeflow out of balance so the sage reported his findings to the other sages and the went to off to try and stop Miharu.

Before Miharu could revive her husband, the sages found her and asked her to stop what she was doing. Feeling she had been betrayed by the ones closest to her, Miharu lost control. She used her immense power to kill all but one of the sages, who was away destroying a sea demon who had been sinking merchant ships.

When the sage returned and learned of the death of his comrades he sought out revenge. He left his wife one night and set out on a journey to the Yggdrasil Tree.

Meanwhile, Miharu's power had become equivalent to that of a goddess. She created 7 souls and molded thier bodies with different elements. These 7 servants protected Miharu and murdered all who came near the Yggdrasil Tree. Miharu had begun to take away the life of the planet because she did not know how to control the Yggdrasil Tree's power and became frustrated and confused and started to whither away all the life of the planet, little by little.

When the sage had arrived at the Yggdrasil Tree he was attacked by Miharu's servants but the sage was an extremely powerful one and quickly defeated them and sealed thier power into Blood Stones so he could use them to defeat Miharu.

The sage climbed up the Yggdrasil Tree and finally reached the top where Miharu waited him. They fought for 5 days and nights, cracking the planet and splitting the heavens. The sage realized he couldn't kill Miharu for she had obtained immortality so he used all the 7 Blood Stones, and his own flesh to seal her inside the Yggdrasil for eternity, releasing her grip on the worlds lifeflow.

As time went on this story has turned from fact to myth and has been forgotton by most people in the present time.

For the past 10 years, Demons have been growing very savage. Towns are being attacked constantly, the growth of the planet is in danger of being stopped again. The three Kingdoms of the world, Jirion, Silvia, and Aquaria have been strengthening thier armies but can't seem to stop the demons because thier attack patterns are completely random and it is impossible to locate the demons in the large forests that cover the world.

A teenager named Raide Lander lives in a small town called Dansen town which is located near the ancient Yggdrasil Tree. Although the townspeople know that a giant tree is right next to thier town, they have no idea, the power it possesses or the dark goddess that is sealed inside of it.

Raide wants nothing more to live in his village and protect it with his best friend Aria. They have made a promise to each other that they will stay alive and witness the world return to how it was before 10 years ago. Before thier nightmare began.

PS: The events of 400 years ago play a very crucial role in the story line. Also I know Yggdrasil Tree might be kinda cliche but I'm using it anyways :P.

    Yggdrasil
Um, out of curiousity, does that name have any meaning behind it?

I have never actually researched the names meaning but it always usually refers to the tree of life when it is used in RPG's or anime.

EDIT: Currently I am doing research on the Yggdrasil Tree. It is the world tree and its origins are in Norse Mythology. As I continue to do my research on it I am coming up with good ideas to use in my Yggdrasil dungeon at the very end of the game when you get to venture inside the tree.

It's also the name of the main villan in Tales Of Symphonia

I know you aren't stealing it. But it's a funny to think about.

I really like the story. Though I have to wonder how one sage managed to seal her, while the others were destored.

I am looking forward to this game.

I'm glad all of you like it. It took me a lot of thinking to come up with.

Well the sage that sealed her wasn't that strong actually. He managed to survive so long because of the Blood Stones and some luck, and he couldn't kill her so he had to give his life to seal her. The sage died in the sealing process.

Oh, and you have to have Nidhogg as a boss.

You can look forward to many bosses inside of Yggdrasil.

I'm planning on having at least 10 in that dungeon.
