"Finally Saw Watership Down" part one million. *Spoilers*

Eh...it was pretty good but the ending was abrupt and really lacked the emotional punch it could've had.

I thought the ending was decent. The whole "circle of life" thing... pre-disney.

I would've liked to have seen what Fiver thought about his brother just dropping dead out of nowhere, they kinda just forget about him by the end of the movie even though he catalyzed the whole incident.

The bird was like my favorite character ever, though.

I saw it first when I was very little, and the ending really bothered me. I was accustomed to watching Disney cartoons where morality is beaten over your head. As I got older I grew to like it more, and now I look at it as more of a creation myth. In form, very similar to tribal cultures. It addresses the how and why of the particular warren's place in the world, complete with a prophet and adversary. It extolls virtues that contribute to the warren while providing a cautionary tale with examples of the faults and dangers that could lead to the warren's demise.
