    Nearing completion

I am now up to 98.4% completion on my RPGM3 game, Series 1: Desiny Beckons. I had to delete all the event code that had only 1 message display and retype it in as mode dialogue (or whatever it's called). This saved me about 2 percent or so, but I do not like the fact that the 2D models do not show up when doing this, and the camera spins around wildly, too. Unfortunately, I needed to recoup some memory, so it's a sacrifice I had to make. At least I did not have to delete my gambling minigame yet. If I did so, I'd probably get 2-3% memory back. But I'm almost done. All characters are made. All items are made. All monsters are made. I just have to balance the monster battles, and I doubt changing a monster's stats uses any memory (at least I hope)...

How does the camera spin around wildly? There's no reason for it to unless you're talking to someone with a wall behind you.

Well...let me rephrase that. It spins slowly around the character you are talking to. I just do not like it. I was rather happy with my 2D model conversations, but like I said, when you get that low on available memory, sometimes drastic measures need to be taken. Oh, I ordered the strategy guide for RPGM 2 yesterday, and also ordered the game of RPGM 1. Now all I need is a Dex drive and a few PSOne memory cards.

That still doesn't sound right. My copy certainly didn't have the camera spinning around people you talked to, neither fast nor slow. Maybe it's a glitch, or your analog stick is off-center a bit.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen all the time but the camera circles around sometimes during conversations in my game. I don't really know what causes it.

the camera spins around wildly in my game too.

Perversion, I'm glad you found a way to finish your game, I think I'm going to have to cut some planned parts from my game too. I started off way too ambitious.
The only thing I kind of regret is making my main character the adventurer model, since it's the default model. It would be to hard to change now as I'd have to edit all my storytellers too. I hope a lot of people don't use that model(it's the hero model in Dear Brave Heart also).
designing on three now is so weird, as I've gotten used to 2's system. It really is fun and easy to make a game, with ridiculous restrictions and all.

              Re: Nearing completion

The major things I cut from my game were extraneous anyway, although I did spend a good amount of time on one of them. First, I had a guy who would sell you a potion that raises one stat at the expense of another for the whole party. This was done so parties that wanted to focus on fighting could do so at the expense of magic, and vice versa. The effect was temporary, though, and lasted only during the night and on that field map. The guy required probably 5 or 6 modes to get this done, and another 5 invisible events that changed the character's stats back to normal. It was a lot of inputting "code," and it worked great, but it just was not needed. I think by deleting the whole thing, I saved like 2-3% of memory, which does not sound like a lot, but when you are at 99.5% usage like I am now, it makes all the difference in the world.

The other thing I deleted was really kinda dumb. It was a dog who was an easter egg. If you keep talking to the dog, he keeps saying "Woof, woof." So the player thinks that's all the dog does. But each "woof, woof" is a different mode, and if you talk to the dog long enough, the main character says something different. Once again, not essential, but fun nonetheless. I might put both of these ideas in the first game I started making for RPGM3, which I gave up on a while back to start work on my current game. It's still sitting there though, so I might finish it up after this behemoth of a game is done. So don't steal my ideas, okay? They might show up elsewhere.

                lol
man, I think I'll have to cut plot elements, like a whole piece of my quest.
you've got it good my friend. I'll play your game and review it when you release it.

Probably just as a random posting.
