Over the Hedge is based on the comic strip.

The third one is just a rip off from that other animals cg movie.

But everything has to be in 3-D these days, even video games!

Why do they do the same thing over and over and over again.

This is getting kinda old now, and eventually they are gonna run out of animals.

I like how the Ice Age website says "From outside the US: Choose your country below" and Canada isn't on the list.

I was liking these animal adventure movies at first. Now it's rediculous. Why is everybody making the same thing all of a sudden?

That third one in particular seems like a rip off of Madagascar. Or is it a sequel? I forgot who made it. And I'm too uninterested to look into it.

That's what I was about to say, except this movie takes place in the city the entire time apparently.

2D animated movies, to me, look so much better than CG movies. It's just more impressive when they're smoothly animated. CG movies, you pretty much make the model, and maniuplate it using a computer program. 2D movies take effort. Unless it's flash-based. Then they're just being lazy.

But it seems like the old-fashioned animated movies are being restricted to really unnecessary sequels such as Lady and the Tramp 2, Lilo and Stitch 2, The Lion King 1 1/2, etc. right now. And these are straight-to-video sequels, and in my experience, these type of movies don't have near as much effort put into them as those that are shown in the movie theater.

seriously. it's kind of sad that movies like Sleeping Beauty, the Jungle Book, and the Secret of Nimh (all released many years ago) have much better animation than a lot of the animated movies being released today. it really speaks volume about how much the people behind the scenes really care.

Disney basically disbanded its theatrical 2D animation team. 2D is basically dead to them now.

The Pixar guys are trying to reassemble Disney's 2D department apparently.
