    Draygone predicts the next RPGM

Please note, this is not a "What I want to see in RPGM4" topic, and is not to become one.

Last night I drempt of a fantastic RPGM. And given my track record when it comes to video-game dreams, I figured this might be worth posting. (I drempt of Kirby's Dream Land 2 and a handheld Kirby's Adventure, and either Super Game Boy or Game Boy Color, before they were ever introduced, as well as drempt a good idea of what RPGM2 and RPGM3 would be like shortly before getting them, with decent accuracy.)

Unfortunately, I can't remember too much about the dream, but I'll try to recall as much as I can.

First off, this was at the end of the dream, but it was the part that made it very much evident that I was using an RPGM. And it was for the PC, and in 3D. Impressive 3D, even. Granted it didn't look like Oblivion, but on the monitor I has a large hilly field with some trees scattered about. It was perhaps the same level of detail as one would see in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, as far as scenery goes, except with better grass textures. My cousin and my grandpa were for some reason with me in my room, being impressed by what they saw. My cousin even saying, "THIS is the RPGM you were talking about?!" Or something like that. I woke up mid-sentence. Too bad I didn't glimpse any sort of editing options. That would've been interesting.

The rest, I'm not sure if it was the RPGM, or they just somehow led into the monitor portion. The rest happened to consist of a full-eye-view of the game, as if I were really there (or at least had my face dangerously close to the monitor). What I saw seemed to be a cross between an action RPG, and a movie. Or maybe a cutscene started after the boss was defeated. Yeah, that might've been it. Because I was battling some giant rat boss in action-RPG fashion. Late in the battle, a cutscene showed some tribemembers looking onward at the fight, impressed that the one defeating the rat may be the chosen one or something. It cut back to me defeating the rat by bonking it on the head, with my character suddenly getting dizzy (due to him suddenly realizing his powers, or something).

Before that part, though, it was me running from the bad guy and his army or something. I wound up on the world map (don't remember what that was like), and entered one area, and seeing what appeared to be the entrance to a dark forest. Except I remembered I wasn't supposed to go there yet (was I testing?) and doubled back to the world map. The forest entrance seemed like a pre-rendered background, and I think a song was playing that sounded like it came straight from a Final Fantasy game. I think the character I was controlling looked similar to Zidane? Perhaps the RPGM allowed for custom graphics. Or maybe in reality I was dreaming of the next Final Fantasy.

Apparently the bad guy had a technological city, though. This was for certain in full 3D. I think I was feeling impending doom if I stayed there, and my goal was to escape. (Please note, I'm recalling this dream from end to start.)

That's all I can remember. It would certainly be interesting if this did become an RPGM (whether for a console or for the PC). I know one thing. This gives me an interesting idea for a game to create. I'll wait a little bit. If this does turn out to be the next RPGM, I'm gonna make this a game for it.

Its a preminition. Draygone has psychic powers!

I find it funny that the hero of the story was fighting a giant rat boss and people suddenly started to call him the chosen one. Thats not cliche in the least bit.

It would be cliche however if he was fighting something that is actually powerful looking, say a really powerful swordsman or some kind of giant mutant beast.

      I like Prima Notions!

My prophetic dreams usually only come true when I dream in "Black and White"... my "full color" dreams rarely are prophetic.

Time will tell on this one...

      MOO!
