    RPG Maker 2 vs 3

I have RPG Maker 3 and it's the first RPG Maker I've used. Is it worth getting RPG Maker 2 and using that, or is RPG Maker 3 just pretty much better in every way?

    2>>>>3

3 is easier to use and better graphics but 2=Teh uberz in terms of power.

Not better in everyway, but much easier and quicker to use. Depends on your style of programming and what you want to do with RPGM.

Well, RPG Maker 3 is the easiest to use if you don't mind the limitations. With RPG Maker 2, you have complete freedom to make virtually any game imaginable , but it can be very difficult to use. Fortunately, Rodak, Bigfoot, thetruecoolness and Dungeon Warden are just a few of the legendary geniuses who can definately help you with RPG Maker 2.

RPG Maker 2 is difficult to find now, so if you're considering getting it, you might want to look at eBay and find good prices.

i would say rpg maker 2. i havent played three but i know it seems limited. i dont like the idea that 3 is stuck in medieval times. two has some future items but it doesnt fit in with the rest of the world. 3 may be easier, but like i said before its very limited compared to 2. 2 will take time to master, i have no clue still how to do anything, but its fun.
p.s. most people, including me, have found rpg maker 2 in local EB Games. I still see it in the EB in Port Huron

Thanks! It sounds like RPG Maker 2 would be a great thing to get when I have alot more time on my hands... I like the medieval theme for most RPGs that I would make but even in the small time that I've been using 3 it seems like there is actually alot of limitation on the kind of characters, enemies, items, buildings, etc.--and I think if I had time to really make a cool RPG it would be cool to have more options, especially if there is more to do in terms of actually gameplay. For right now though RPG Maker 3 still seems a bit complicated and I'm still getting used to using it even if it is relatively simple.

Yeah, if 3 is complicated for you I would hold off on 2 until you've mastered 3, otherwise you'll likely go insane. Besides, if nothing else, it is quicker to make a game with RPGM3.

wow, everyone jumping on the RPGM2 train.
I wonder if Agetec foresaw that when they released RPGM3.

probably not. but, when you downgrade creative freedom, there's bound to be recoil.
