A Custom Smiley! - My First!!

I wanted to see if I could make one of these.

    Here's what happened.

    How'd I do?

The individual gif files were made in mspaint. There are 12 of them, I think... I am at work and did this early this morning (before conciousness contaminated my brain!

I compiled them with Microsoft's freeware gif animator.

At first it looked like this:

(actually it was larger (500 x 500 pixels). Photobucket shrank it!

I used Pixresizer (more freeware) to bulk convert the images down to smiley size.

It is still a little big, but it's my first!

Break's over.... Gotta get back to work!

      Peace.

It looks even better at a larger size.

Thanks for the info. I want to mess around with some gifs, too.

It's a lot of fun making gifs.

I've got GIF Movie Gear. It's extremely easy to use, and can also convert Flash movies into gifs, I believe.

I used it to make the Dr. Wily emote.

          Try it out!

I looked at the programs you both mentioned.

            They want Money!

I'll have to stick to freeware for a while.

Unless their trial versions are just limited versions that do not expire. I hate demos that expire! I'd rather have a bare bones package for free.

            I don't even have a credit card!

            That limits me right there.

            Thanks for the thoughts.

I may try the demos, but fear they will be temp dealies and I won't want 'em.

Do you know about the trial versions of the programs you are championing?

The sites did not say much about the demos.

            Any info would help.

            Peace.

It looks like the peace frame and the frame next to it repeat.

                      Yeah, it's real abrupt.

I did not create this in a wise sequence.

I made the first and last frames to start and did the in betweens out of sequence.

I have been working with the VFX Editor in RPGM2 for too long... that's the best way to animate in there.

                      I shall improve.

I have two more ideas for this type smiley.

I hope to improve the technique with each one!

                      Thanks for the comments, all!

                      Peace again!

                          It certainly flows better.

I miss the last frame though...

I'll have to redraw it so it works!

It is a shame ulead costs money. Until I get my roof fixed again I am still limited to freeware.

If I ever get good equipment I'll be dangerous!!

My more complex one is taking far longer than I thought it would... I am pushing 30 drawings and am only 2/3 of the way through the sequence I wanted to make... I thought I could do it in 25!

                          Eh, I am still learning.

                          Thanks for the feedback everyone!

                          Peace.

                              I am tempted, trust me...

                              But No Thanks.

I'll find better freeware or a bunch of money somehow!!

My boss owes me a significant raise!!!

Time to start looking for new work.

                              I can't support my Hobbies!!

I want Flash Pro Animator Dammit.

                              It's only $1,000.00!

And I want a computer that can work with it!!

That's only a couple thousand more.

                              Life.
