P.L.R. pretty much sucks (Resident Evil 4)

I went all the way through professional mode, which shouldn't be that hard in Resident Evil 4, but I constantly had no money, herbs, or ammo. So the entire game was getting from one fire fight to the next, dying 20 times because the continue didn't transfer to the point when you killed everyone, and only having a knife most of the time to use. I got through the final boss today, and got myself the P.L.R. laser, tried it, and was pretty dissapointed, it's good use for conserving my ammo for the other weapons, but terrible to use when ambushed or escaping attack. Which happens alot.
Any idea what happens when you have a hundred percent hit ratio at the end of the game, which you can get with the infinate rocket launcher. (Shots don't count towards the hit ratio with a rocket launcher) I'll go through again to get a million ptes, with the P.L.R. if the benefit is worth it.

If it's anything like the GC version hit ratio and kills are just statistics for those who care about such things, nothing special.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

P.L.R. does indeed suck when you are in a tight spot. But its great if you have enough time to charge it up.

I was told that for 100% hit ratio at the very end of the game, you recieve some sort of super special treat
I'm at chap. 3 in the castle, and have around 600000+ ptes, it's going faster than I thought at the moment.

The P.L.R. is basically just a replacement for flash grenades. Works great if you need to make a quick escape, and kills Plagas easily.

Wait until you get the Chicago Typewriter...

And I think you don't get anything for 100% hit ratio, that I've heard of. I do know that if you get five-star ratings with all characters in all levels in The Mercenaries minigame, you get the ultimate weapon(after you upgrade it fully, it has 99.9 firepower and infinite ammo).

Your talking about the hand cannon, which sucks something terrible, but so does the CTW.
I got the Infinate Rocket launcher too now, and is nothing big, just handy and space wasting, it seems I'm dissapointed with all the special stuff,

You don't like the Typewriter? It's full-auto with infinite ammo and 10.0 firepower per bullet...

as of yet, the p.l.r. is something i've left undone in RE4. the last thing i was trying to complete was the mercenaries game(which is fun, but at the same time annoying when the one of the chainsaw people(salvador or bella sisters) give you a surprise decapitation after you've got the 60,000 points you need).

the typewriter is probably the best overall weapon. it fires super fast and it has a good stopping power. sure, the handcannon and rocket launcher are actually stronger, but they're kind of slow compared to the typewriter and they don't work as well against groups. with the rocket launcher comes the danger of killing yourself too.

It's harder than you would think to kill your self with the rocket launcher, even at point blank, it only damages you about a little more than halfway.
I found an excellent use for the P.L.R. though, the novistadors. Or the insects than can fly, and in some cases look invisable. all you have to do is charge it and fire it instantly, no full power needed, and all of them in range die. Most of the time giving up a treasure eye. You can also destroy the big nest in the castle where Ashley is kidnapped by a novistador, and get around 15 of those eyes, maybe even a rare blue one...
