    RPG maker 4?

Any news, any at all, any gossip from your sowing circles on the matter of a
new game? Do we have rumors, pictures, ideas, or even confirmation that they even plan on making another RPG maker? And if they do, does this site gets all the first information?

More than likely, RPGM4 isn't even being work on yet. Either that or they are now just started working on ideas for it. RPGM3 came out Fall 2005, so it will be a while before we would see a RPGM4 or any information on it. That is if they are considering making an RPGM4. Only time will tell.
I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

Our RPG Maker 3 isnt part of the numbered series in japan, and came out on December 16th, 2004. it was even worked on by a totally seperate development team from the main series.

So its not realistic to think that the main development teams have been sitting around doing nothing since August of 2002, when RPG Maker 2 (RPG Tsukuru 5) was released in japan.

Yes, they are up to something. as always.

And if they do, does this site gets all the first information?
Nope. Official word will come from enterbrain's own site and Famitsu (a magazine they own) first. Of course, the pavilion (and mag) staff may hear stuff prior to that, but we cant say anything until Enterbrain or Agetec tells us we can.

So, anyone think that RPGM4 is going to be for PS2 or PS3?

I hope it's for PS2, 'cause I'm gonna get Rev first.

I have doubts about it being on PS3. PS3's gotta be too expensive for an RPGM to be made on.

It'd be cool if it were on Revolution though, and then we'd be able to make games that use that remote-thingy.

I think (if anything) that the next RM would be for PC. RMXP is still in beta stages, and a PC version of the RMs would be a totally better way to go, what without the memory restrictions and the infinite versatility...

i always thought that rpgm 4 would be made for ps3. but, on second thought, since it's all backwards compatible, having it for ps2 wouldn't be bad at all. i think enterbrain could push it a little more graphically than rpgm 2 and still retain the same system depth. rpgm 3 looks okay, but it's still fairly drab.

                    Manji
After staring at rm2 for hours, I put in Rm3 and almost crapped my pants. It's not a bad looking game by Rm standards. I'm sick enough to say it looks darn good.

                      Re: RPG maker 4?

                      I think RM3 looks great.

RMXP, first off, is already out. Not in beta stages. It's done. It's released. It costs $60. It's available at download.com. The only part that isn't finished is the translation of 4 of the 5 sample games that RMXP included in Japan, but those are being released separate, and for free.

Second, RMXP is part of the PC RPGM series, somewhat separate from the console series. There will likely be another PC RPGM, but there will also be another console RPGM (which should be well into development by now), as well as a handheld RPGM (which Japan has, but we don't for lack of way to transfer saves so far).

(At least, the series are separate to me.)

                        Re: RPG maker 4?

Oh, my I feel extremly stoopid... I assumed that XP was still in beta as I when I went to download it (download.com) it stated that it was a trial as it wasn't finished yet. This led me to believe that XP (as part of the main RMs) was to be the next edition and agetec/enterbrain had decided to go for the PC as their next "system" to release a RM game on. My bad...

eh, download.com is dumb about that. the trial is just there so you can try before you buy. Not your fault for believing what download.com said.

The console and PC RPG Maker series are done by different teams at enterbrain, so new installments for each can be done at the same time.

Yup, 30-day free trial. Or was it 24? I forget. Well either way, if you try it for however long and don't like it, you don't have to buy it. (Of course, you have to buy it in order to go beyond the trial.)
