    DENIED

    orz

After careful review of your application for admission, we sincerely regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission for the Fall Quarter 2006. Let me assure you that we understand and share your disappointment.
I guess I'm not meant to be a Bruin. Anyone else apply/get in?

If they share your dissappointment, then why didn't they let you in?

    Sorry about that,.

That sucks. That's why I only applied to schools that were so lame they were happy just to get applications.

It's hard to say what caused them to deny you admission so I suggest you ask them. You have a right to know. Keep applying. Also, have you applied elsewhere? If not, do so. Perhaps you can transfer in after a semester or a year elsewhere. Don't let it get you down. You'll never be a Bruin if you stop trying.

Sorry to hear this. I can't share the feeling of "been there, done that".

I applied(early) to both Thiel(a private school) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I got into both... but decided against Thiel for monetary reasons.:X

          Perhaps if you keep trying.... I dunno, I'm at a loss for this.>_>;;

I only applied to one college and got accepted... It was an Art College so it was easy .

I'm not too disappointed... They only accepted 10% of applicants. And I did get in to the University of Arizona with a partial scholarship and I got in to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I'm still waiting to hear from UCSB and Berkeley. As of now, I'll probably end up going to SLO or UCSB (granted I get in of course), and transfering to UCLA as a Junior.

When it gets that time for me, I think I will go for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (A.K.A. UNC). Speaking of UNC, they got murdered by Boston College today.

                      Damn straight.

And when it comes to getting in, there is no rhyme or reason to anything. If you ever wonder why a person, similarly skilled to you, got in and you didn't, there isn't one. They just throw darts at applications. TEN people in my graduating class got into Columbia. Shouldn't that be impossible?

I got into University of Washington, but while there I had to apply to my intended major and was rejected. Colleges that have competitive entry also often have competitive majors, and it's quite lame.

If I had to do it all over, I would honestly just go to a Community College first unless I got a scholarship to go do the first two years. The first two years of college, no matter the university, are unimportant.

I am not opposed to community college, I just want to move out. I've been in this house for too long, I need to get out and away.

The problem with a community college is that for most people they're a trap.
You say you're only going to go there for two years and then transfer, but what happens if a serious relationship comes along? A job you don't want to leave? You get stuck in the area. Its much easier just to bail out right after highschool.

Sampson's right. I went to college at home planning to move away as soon as I get a chance and now 7 years late I'm still stuck here. It's largely my own fault, but I'm agreeing with him that it's easiest to do it right after high school even if you only go to another city in the same area it puts some distance between you and the life you've had so far and makes it easier to break free completely when you decide to.
