    Let the sin begin.

"Death isn't the end. Its the beginning of hell."

    SIN

The mind is a fragile thing, though it can withstand stress, too much will make it snap. As a man emotionally scared by the death of his daughter and dearest friends in a tragic church fire, my very mind is at risk. 15 years of living with such tragedy, has taken its toll on me... I don't know how much time I have left before I completely lose myself. Nothing makes sense any more, for I can't tell fantasy from reality. All I know is that my only hope lies in the hands of a ghost child. Can he really help me or is he too a figment of my imagination.

    Features:

    *An active custom battle system.

*Over 9 deadly weapons to show the spooks that you mean business.

*A mystery that must be solved before one's mind is lost forever.

*Unlockable features such as the comical Kill Cupid Vol. 1 mini game.

*Challenging puzzles and boss battles will keep you off your feet.

*Multiple endings including a special one for the Silent Hill fans.

Are you ready for the nightmare that is SIN?

I don't have enough time right now to get into the details of the game. This post was partly to test my advertising skills. I'll post more about the game later (keep in mind that the game is not finished.) I didn't really give any details, but what do you think about it so far. Does it sound like it has potential? Either way, I'm going to go through with this game, but I would like to hear your opinions. Does this sound like it would be a decent survival horror?

Sorry, I'll fix that so it is easier to read. I kind of have a thing for the color red.

Bigfoot, you're right it is for RPGM2.

Here is a list of the characters. The main character is suppose to be named by the player so he will be referred to as The Hero.

            Characters

            The Hero
            Age: 47
            Info:
He is one of the few survivors of the Blackview church fire. Luckily, his injuries weren't life threatening, but his left eye was severely burned. The same can't be said for his loving daughter, Maria, who was burned beyond recognition. 15 years have passed since that day, but the emotional scares have never healed. His mind has degenerated gradually over the years, with little hope of returning to normal. The only hope for him now is the promise of a ghost child. This child will lend him his strength while trying to solve the mystery of the fire. The question is how much time is left before his mind is completely lost.

            Maria
            Age: 10 (before death)
            Info:
She was a very energetic girl with a short attention span. Maria, happened to be a bit of a tomboy and despised girly things. The hero gained custody over her after his divorce. She was his only true joy in life...

            Jameston Huffield
            Age: 30
            Info:
Jameston was only 15 years old the day of the fire. He left the rest room only to meet a wall of fire. His burns covered his entire body and he nearly didn't make it. After that day his personality changed into something quite fierce. Now he is serial killer, which is believed to have killed over 200 people. Jameston doesn't just kill his victims, he skins them alive.

            Daniel Nightshade
Age: Appears to be in 40's (true age unknown)
            Info:
The police officer in charge of the Jameston Huffield case. He has been after him for 3 years, but is still unable to catch him. Daniel's actions have been strange as of late and seems to have connections with a cult.

            The Child
            Age: Unknown
            Info:
This is the ghost child promising to save the hero. Reason for this is unknown, but he does give some perks. With his abilities reloading weapons is not necessary and he can heal all wounds. The question is, can he be trusted?

Oh sure it does. If you can make it right, it should be a fairly cool game.

Just because he got burnt badly, he is now a serial killer? And how does he move around without collasping in pain?

If you can, you might want to have it that his face was just burnt badly, but not totally disforming. And have it that he burns his victims. Seeking some kind of retritubtion for what the fire did to him.

But that is just a suggestion.

I don't have enough info on the actual story is, other than someone looking for answers to a fire.

The burns isn't the reason why he became a serial killer. It is something that happened that day that changed him. I really can't get into that because it is quite a spoiler. Vonwert, I do like your suggestions... I will try my best to make him look burned. That will be a challenge, but well worth it.

Hmm... I didn't know that. You learn something new every day I guess. Does anyone know the spanish word for '"sin?" I've been thinking about using that for the name, but my english-spanish dictionary sucks and I couldn't find it...

                    Weapons

Maria- A small handgun named after his daughter. This weapon doesn't pack much of a punch, but it does have good range.

Shotgun- This is a shotgun made specifically for hunting. VP's weapon of choice.

HK5- A submachine gun used in the military. You get more shots in on your enemy, with the cost of more ammo.

Soul Banisher- Plasma cannon from unknown origin. Has few drawbacks other than ammo being hard to find.

Swarmer- Missile launcher which can shoot multiple missiles at a time. This weapon is very powerful, but has very poor range.

Flamethrower- Can heat up any party. The only weapon that can hurt succubus.

Proton Pack- Weapon specifically made for hunting ghosts. This weapon must be unlocked to use.

Decapitator- A small saw for cutting off heads. Why the hell would someone make a weapon like that?

ARM- This is a high powered, armor piercing rifle. Has great power and range... probably the most balanced weapon.

Death-Ray- A laser beam that blasts out of the hero's good eye. UNLIMITED AMMO! Must be unlocked, though.

Phantom Swords- Summoned swords from the other side. Must be unlocked to use.

Redeemer- A special weapon made for exorcisms by the Vatican. It is a cross shaped rifle which shoots out small disks. Has decent range and power.

Crimson Libra- A small pistol empowered by passion. Somehow it is able to use .45 magnum bullets... how is beyond even me. This baby is the most powerful weapon in the game and has great range. The down side is the ammo for it is increadibly rare.

A Child's Love- At one point in the game you may switch characters. This is the other character's default weapon. This weapon uses phantasmic rounds to put a ghost to rest. Is no more powerful than the Maria handgun.

Super Soaker- This weapon may seem silly now, but trust me your life might depend on it. It is just an average watergun, so shooting a ghosts/monsters with it may not be a very good idea.

                      sin (noun) = pecado

Thanks, Toecutter, I may just us pecado as the name.

                        Ghosts

Pain- A spirit that was brutally killed during life. Seeks an escape from the pain and persistently chases the only one who can stop it. He has a very obvious weakness... a beating heart in his ripped out chest.

Sorrow- A spirit that committed suicide during life. This is in fact a very dangerous ghost indeed. He can use fire arms, so either get rid of him quick or get the hell out of there.

Malice- A spirit that died on the battlefield during life. She hates all living things. Anyone and anything that gets in her path are killed indescrimitely. As they, "hell has no furry like a woman's scorn."

Anger- A spirit killed by his wife after cheating on her during life. His intense anger is apparent from the flames surrounding his body. He is only dangerous at close range.

Because they are ghosts they can not actually be killed. It is possible to dispose of them temporarily, but don't expect it to be safe once you leave that area. There are more enemies than just ghosts, though, and those ones can be killed. I will post them later.

                          Monsters/Enemies

Life Sucker- This enemy is quite the pesk. They can't be hurt it anyway and they absorb your LP (Life points; they allow continues.) Life suckers are just simple floating orbs and aren't very detailed. They are commonly found in areas where Pain is.

Aborted- These are spirits of children never allowed to be born. They possess infants and kick that poor child's soul out of its body. Normally, a baby wouldn't be a threat, but these spirits leech onto the souls of adults. Are found later in the hospital.

Gargoyle- Demons that act as statues in order to keep pray off guard. Are usually no threat to humans and are often gentle. For some reason they have been acting strangly lately. They are fast creatures that hunt their pray aggressively. Their are many different forms of gargoyles. Found at old churches and state buildings.

Sacacorchos Gusano- A mutated, parasitic worm that attaches to the hosts heart. After a few short hours it consumes the heart and controls the corpse in search for a host. They are very dangerous because it is hard to tell if someone is a host.

Demon Puppet- A puppet created from flesh of humans. They greatly resemble the one that created them and are twice as strong. The only way to defeat the puppet is to destroy its master.

Hallucination- Sometimes the hero starts seeing things that aren't there. They do not exist so therefore they can not harm you. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to tell the difference between a real threat and a hallucination.

Lurker- These beings live in walls and cielings. Lurkers will pull the victim in and devour them, so getting caught by them means death. The good news is there is usually a very obvious sign that a lurker is near.

So far that is all the enemy types I have created. Things are moving kind of slow, but I'm not complaining. I've been spending alot of time with VFX trying to make some interesting looking monsters. You can do about anything with the VFX editor. Maybe one day I may get as good as Rodak... like that will happen.
