Congratulations, Kurt Wimmer and Milla Jovovich

You made the biggest joke of a movie ever made. If there ever was a cure for depression or anxiety this is it. Never again will I feel down about myself. Because now I can always remind myself:

At least I didn't make Ultraviolet.

But I did see it. And I survived. If you want to see the movie that, in a better life, would revive Mystery Science Theater 3000 see Ultraviolet - the cinematic equivalent of a used tampon.

The trailer actually made it seem like it might not completely stink. Which of course means it inevitably does.

What makes it worse than Equilibrium?

Equilibrium is Citizen Kane compared to this.

Hey, think what you like... I liked Equilibrium. It was a dinky little independent action flick with enough style, sterility (isn't that point?!) and Gun Kata and Taye Diggs (mmmm...) to get by. It lived off its hokey-ness, it even had a heart. Christian Bale defying gravity with an M16 was a terrific prelude to his asskicking turn as Batman.

                Ultraviolet is retarded beyond belief.

Could be worse...I actually sat through Date Movie or whatever its called this Saturday.

Any other day of my life I would never bother, but the girl on my arm was convincing to me otherwise.

                  And I liked Equilibrium.

I liked Equilibrium. It was Fahrenheit 451 fueled by wacky action scenes. My custom title was "Sense Offender" for a few months.

The Ultraviolet previews try to make it look like they kept the recipe. Just add a female protagonist and something about genetics to the Gun Kata in a Brave New World. That's why I'm wondering in what ways Wimmer and co. managed to create a film much worse than Equilibrium.

Oh, okay. Groovy. *slices your face off* Fahrenheit 451 is one of my favorite novels so seeing the action movie version gave me a good geekgasm.

I'd go into greater detail with Ultraviolet's suckage but it's late, and I want Kefka to get in on this too.

I wonder if they ripped the plot or title (a la I, Robot) from the "UltraViolet" TV series, which sounded like an action series about vampires, without ever using the word "vampire".

                        So, uh, yeah.

Hehe, my local paper compared this movie to a shampoo commercial.

Ultraviolet knew the number one best way to ruin an action movie. Add a kid.

I heart Equillibrium. I plan on seeing UltraViolet but I have to say I was excited about it until I saw the preview.
