Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner - Fall Out Boy

I have just very recently gotten into Longwave . Check 'em out.

    Re: The 544,396th Music Thread

If I listed my Top Five, most of it would be underground, or at least uncommon stuff. But what the hell:

Tegan & Sara - Walking With A Ghost
    Tenacious D - Explosivo
A Perfect Circle - Three Libras
Akira Yamaoka - End of Small Sanctuary
Elysian Fields - Tides of the Moon

(Snarf got me hooked on T&S and Elysian Fields)

If you like bluesy punky rock weird stuff, I recommend Eagles of Death Metal. Their style is neither Eagles nor Death Metal.

      Re: The 544,396th Music Thread

According to iTunes, my top five played songs are:

      Protest by Buck 65
      The Twist by Metric
      Storytelling by Belle and Sebastian
      New Slang by the Shins
      Ersatz by Fischerspooner

As for recommendations... how about anything on E6 (and its family)? They're not extremely underground, but oh well.. Neutral Milk Hotel, Apples in Stereo, Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power, Ulysses, Marshmallow Coast, etc.

        Obviously top five songs then?

        Top 5:
        Songs:
        Coldplay - Shiver
        Interpol - Narc
Middle of Nowhere - Hot Hot Heat
        Optimistic - Radiohead
Crystal Days - Echo & The Bunnymen

        Artists(According to my last.fm ):
        Readiohead
        Red Hot Chili Peppers
        Boards of Canada
        DJ Shadow
        The Beatles

        My recomendation(s):
Not sure how popular Echo & The Bunnymen are but I love them they're early 1980's music that inspired pretty much any indie music you hear today, The Shout Out Louds aren't that popular and I think they ROCK they're Icelandic rock, and finally I suggest My Bloody Valentine, it's just good music.

          Re: The Music Thread

          I don't really have a top five.

          My favorite bands/artists:

          Lynard Skynard
          Bruce Springsteen
          Jello Biafra and the Melvins
          Wesley Willis
          Bob Dylan
          Tom T. Hall
          AC/DC
          Led Zeppelin
          Leftover Crack
          Burning Image

Four of these aren't mainstream. The rest are very old.

              Re: The Music Thread

'Cordin' to winamp, my top 5 are:

              1. "Dedofiktion" by Circle

              3. "Dethroned" by Guitaro
              4. "Bicycle Rider" by 5ive's Continuum Research Project
              5. "The Full Destroyermerzbow Meltdown" by Alec Empire vs. Merzbow

              Personally though, I think it's...

              1. "Sometimes" by My Bloody Valentine
              2. "When the Sun Hits" by Slowdive

And I can't recommend anything with good conscience.

Oh man, I can't believe I didn't throw in any Spacemen 3, Spiritualized or Sonic Youth. Just... Pretend I did.

According to Itunes, my top five are:

                  1) Ballad of Spider John : Willis Alan Ramsey
                  2) Carney Man : Cross Canadian Ragweed
                  3) Please Let Me Stay a Little Longer : Dirty Dozen Brass Band
                  4) Lowlands : The Gourds
                  5) Zip City : Drive By Truckers

As for my recommendation - Drive By Truckers - they are a really good rock band from Alabama based in Athens, GA - their album Decoration Day is really good
Legs to walk and thoughts to fly
eyes to laugh and lips to cry
                  a restless tongue to classify

My top five has been in my sig for a while now.

As for an underground reccommendation, uhh, I'd have to say the Fall of Troy. Crazy trippy mix of The Mars Volta and Fear Before the March of Flames.

This is about as mainstream as I get:

Top 5 (in no particular order):

                      PDQ Bach

                      Mike Oldfield

                      Akira Ito

                      "Underground" suggestion: Phillip Glass

Worthy Mentions to a few you may know:

EARLY Yes; Genesis; Rush; and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

That's about it except for The Strawberry Alarm Clock.

                      Peace.

                              According to Itunes:
                              1. Here comes the sun -The Beatles
                              2. Box of rain -Grateful Dead

                              5. With a little help from my friends -The Beatles

One underground band I would reccomend is: The Moldy Peaches. They aren't really that underground but they aren't that famous either. They have some very interesting songs nonetheless.
