Oprah was in my city a few days ago. I was nowhere near where she was though. I've never met anybody famous. I don't even know people who look like people who are somebody.
Bill Clinton(My mom was part of his election committee and I never got to talk to him), Jimmy Carter is a good friend of my family(My grandmother was leader of the peanut brigade, Dorthy Padgett), and the mayor of my old town . That's all government wise.
I've met a lot of famous poets you may or may not have heard of.
Movie/music star wise? I met The Killers, Intperpol, and Keane and got autographed CDs and pictures by/with all of them. Saw Jim Carrey onetime in Atlanta, didn't get to talk to him though.
I've met the guys who produce Megatokyo. They were really cool in person.
I used to correspond via email with Ishino Ryuuzo, a seiyuu and singer.
I met voice actor, Scott McNeil, who was (and probably still is) a lot of fun.
I went to hear a lecture by the late Vincent Price a long time ago. He read Poe's poems so wonderfully! He recited "The Raven" after the lecture. He also recited the piece he did in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and it was tooo good in person!
My parents took us to see Mother Teresa when she visited the US once. I don't really remember it.
I haven't met them but I have the autographs of Olivia deHavilland, Ginger Rogers, Alice Faye, Frank Capra, and Vincent Price. You may not have heard of them but they used to be very popular and famous people.
