Do you have any suggestions? My depression has been acting up recently and I'm in a need for a good laugh. Is there anything good coming out in theaters or to DVD?

Re: I need to see a good comedy
If you got HBO, try finding a Comic show.
If you have Comedy Central, check them out. Usually got something on.
Other than that, try watching some Chris Farley movies (any will do), if you have Friday After Next or the original "Friday" movie, you could try that.
Other than what I've reccomended, all I can say is I don't know what make you laugh, so I don't really know what to suggest. Sorry, man.

Re: I need to see a good comedy
The Magic Christian starring Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr with cameos by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Raquel Welch, Christopher Lee, Yul Brenner, Roman Polanski, Sir Lawrence Harvey, and many more?
It has no religious overtones and the title is a bit of a mystery... kinda like the film itself.
But it is an old favorite and a must-see for anyone who likes silliness.
Here is a spoiler free review, but if you don't want to know anything just skip the rest of this post:
It is the story of Sir Guy Grand, the richest man in the world... or very nearly so.
He enjoys using his wealth to play elaborate practical jokes and see just how far people who really should know better will go for the right price.
He has no children and decides to adopt an heir. He chooses Youngman (we never hear his original surname) whom he finds homeless in the park.
The movie is skit comedy like and proceeds from prank to prank by Sir Guy, culminating in something which was edited out of the TV broadcast version and I never saw until I found the LD (old version of DVDs)!
I hope you find it!
Peace.

Re: I need to see a good comedy
I'd recommend anything Rowan Atkinson has done, the Black Adder series (Christmas special is my favorite) or Mr. Bean.
And you can't go wrong with Mel Brooks, Blazing Saddles is my favorite of his, but Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, The History of the World, etc. will do you just as well.So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?

Re: I need to see a good comedy
I just was watching Mr. Bean and Black Adder two days ago! I would recommend those as well. Just avoid the Mr. Bean movie, the show is much better.Last edited by Roland Of Gilead; 02-24-2006, 07:21 PM.

Re: I need to see a good comedy
Yeah British comedy Tv is all pretty funny to me. Black Adder and Mr. Bean are good, I also like Keeping Up Appearances and this show with three old barflys, but I can't remember the name of that one.Legs to walk and thoughts to fly
eyes to laugh and lips to cry
a restless tongue to classify
all born to grow and grown to die

Re: I need to see a good comedy
The daily show has been pretty good lately, especially with the VP shooting, man that was a great show see this post (you'll need to click on next to see them now, use firefox as it uses windows media player and not flash). Office Space is usually good for a few laughs, Bill Burr is pretty good if you can find any of his standup routines (the white guy from chapelle's show). Of course since it's Friday you can check out AdultSwim.com for some streaming videos of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, Morel Orel (though if your Christian this might be offensive, just a warning), Sealab and the Boondocks. Adult swim is usually a good laugh, unless it's some of their newer stuff like Tom Goes to the Mayor or Squidbillies. And if you haven't seen Super Troopers, its really funny, especially the opening 15 minutes, that was one of the funniest scenes the first time I saw it, and it's still pretty funny now.

The Devils Rejects. I don't know if it's classified as a comedy, but I found it to be hilarious. Awesome piece of work.
Oh, and the Leprechaun movies rule. Leprechaun 3 is my favorite, but Leprechaun in the Hood is also pretty swell. The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson
