Oh man, my professor got me. (Not the chemistry humor topic)

I have to do this web evaluation paper for my info gathering class and the first website we have to evaluate is www.dhmo.org. It took me a good five minutes of reading before I got it. I've even seen this before. I feel dum.

Wow, I didn't notice that, and my teacher showed us the site! I know how you feel.

I don't even think you need chemistry.

Little Bobby took a drink but he will drink no more. Cause what he tought was H2O was H2SO4.

You should come into class like a raving lunatic about how Dihydrogen Monoxide will kill us all.

This is actually a very old "hoax":

My Chemistry professor showed us the Penn & Teller scene.

                  Yeah...

I wrote a report on a similar article in a Chemical Journal for Quantitative Analysis.

It was the April Issue (April Fools Joke Article) and we just happened to have a "literature project " due that week.

But Since this seems thread to be taking a turn towards becoming the Chemistry Humor Topic:

I hope you like Gilbert and Sullivan:

I am the very model of a Chemist Inorganical
I will not touch Combustion nor those processes Botanical
I find esters and carboxylic acids to be quite a bore
So since College I have not dealt with Hydrocarbons anymore

I detest pi and sigma bonds; while counting them I almost cried,
Who cares that CH2O is how one writes Formaldehyde?
Of compounds found in nature I've no interest; that's not my thing

I dread each second that I think about that awful Benzene Ring

                  LAB ASSISTANTS

                  CHEMIST
You see I'm much more interested in aspects theoretical
And forming inert gas compounds via methods synthetical
Since I've no interest in Life Processes or those Botanical

Reporting Lab Results is a process in which I can assist
At times I'm less a Chemist and More a Data Analyst

I'm interested in Heisenberg and in Nuclear Mass Defect
I swing a bit t'ward Physics, Shnell's Law, how a prism can reflect
I'm great at nomenclature; with complex ions I am first rate
                  Like PtCl4-minus is Tetrachloro Platinate.

That's just some basic Chemistry terminology (and a few key names of Scientists).

I made the mistake of getting the degree and picked up tons of such material along the way... the problem is finding an audience!

I'm sure our College friends will get most of it... I hope.

                      Oy.

I learned everything they talk about in that poem in freshman chemistry.
