    Court legalizes wacko tea

Apparently hallucinagenic tea was legalized by the supreme court for religious purposes. What a bunch of BS. I'm gonna open "Kire's Church of Trippin'."

Nah, they've been doing it for years without interfering in your everyday life so far, I think you'll be okay.

Now they need to legalize a favorite herb enjoyed by millions, for religous purposes.

Oh, Magus, what are we going to do with you?

Anyway, I don't understand why they legalized that tea. Because of religious purposes? Hell, people used to do human sacrifices for religious beliefs. What if that is brought up then? Will the courts legalize that? I know that is a bit extreme, but it is something that I think needed to be mentioned.

Religious practices are banned if they are deemed inhumane, violent, or malicious towards others... sacrifices (even animal, I believe) of all kind are considered as such and therefore illegal.

Using drugs such as this DMT infused tea is an issue because some believe that it should qualify as destructive to oneself. Others argue against that reasoning (after all, we're allowed to drink to excess and smoke cancer-causing cigarettes so long as we don't disturb others). With drugs, of course, there is also the debate of "why can it be used religiously and not recreationally." Some simply decide that when a drug is used for a religious practice, usually a practice that has history (to circumvent, say, a group of college students attempting to start up the Church of Marijuana), they are used for spiritual purposes (and as long as they are not malicious or what have you), they have certain standing under the freedom of religion.

Hence, christian churches may distribute small quantities of alcohol to minors en masse, rabbis can perform a bris without any sort of medical credentials, and in some places vision quests are as legal as can be. Simplistic examples, but the best I can come up with off the top of my head.
