    From the New World

Who else is looking forward to Shadow Hearts: From the New World? I've heard that it makes a U.S release March the 8th, but I heard that from my local EB Games. I searched all over the internet and from what I've read it should be released sometime in March. I just hope that it isn't as easy as Shadow Hearts II. The final boss was way too easy compared to Meta God (the first Shadow Hearts final boss.)

    Re: From the New World

I have fairly high expectations for this game. If there's something I'd change about the battles, it's the way elements are pretty much a non-issue. With the exception of one or two fights, you can pretty much ignore any elemental alignments throughout. I'd also like a source for guidance. DQ8 spoiled me in this regard...I can remember a few bouts where I'd left Shadow Hearts and struggled to recall exactly what I was doing when I returned, especially with the various sidequests.
So you're a fish out of water...
    Keep swimming.
    What else can you do?

If I want a skewed version of American history I can talk to just about anyone.

Eesh, it is going to be a great game. I know I am going to love it. I liked the first two.

Defintally more orginal than most rpgs these days.

Yeah, the skewed history is what I didn't like about the other two. But, overall I thought they were pretty good.

The only prob I had with the series when it came to history came from Shadow Hearts 1. Its 1913 and the spy has a ****ing cellphone... that is really messed up. From the New World seems like it should be pretty good or at least decent. I'll be buying it the day it comes out. I do have a question, though. What drugs were they on when they made a giant, talking cat?

Well I don't remember demons being in WWII either

It isn't that bad. Though it would have been cool to see demon nazis.

Now that would be pretty cool. If they make a Shadow Hearts 4 they should so have demon nazis.

You fight with a giant talking cat to bust Al Capone out of Jail. How could this game NOT be amazing.

Original or not, it's sure to entertain.

I never really looked at the game as historical, skewed or otherwise. It's fantasy, but it has a different flavor than most rpgs, and above par writing as well. I'd rate it a firm "Good Enough". I'm not looking for it to rock my world, but I'm glad somebody out there is trying to cut a niche out for themselves instead of scrabbling for the bits Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest haven't gobbled up yet.

I am easily amused by taking the names and likenesses of historical figures and using them in non-factual ways, such is the case with Evil Lincoln from Futurama. However, glancing at the box art for Shadow Hearts: From the New World makes me frown:
