    Seeking advice

I would like to know, if there is any way at all, what i can do to improve my posts. Most of the time ive been getting **** for a rep. It's stopped lately, and I suspect bad things.
So, help if you can! (Please, if you've already told me, its probably in an older post and I cant see it. So PLEASE dont hurt or kill me for saying something like this)

    Thank you for reading.

Quit being so annoying, quirky, and overly spirited.

    Just mellow out.

            Re: Seeking advice

Stop attempting to make your posts good by posting what you think people will think is good.

In other words, what you think is good is not good so start doing the opposite.

Well, at least I got responses. I admit im really hyper sometimes, and after I post something someone else sees as annoying, I realise it then it gets me all depressed. I take my privilege to post as quite the divine gift, as Its like a social life posting here. I put quite a lot of time into this post.

EDIT: saw the replies after Magus, and im shocked.
              Toaster, im offended.

                      My thoughts exactly.

But to him, he said it's like having a social life. So you can't blame him *too much* for getting down if people treat him like crap. It's like any other social situation.

Sorry I had to make a seperate reply as I already replied without remembering this part.
                        Are you being serious?

                        EDIT: Toaster, Enough.

                          Re: Seeking advice

If message boards honestly do comprise the majority of your social life, then the problem could stem from your.. well.. lack of basic social skills. I haven't been specifically annoyed by any of your posts, personally, but then again I haven't really paid much attention to you at all, or (lately) the entire board for that matter.

I guess that the key to posting well on a message board is knowing your personality, being able to gauge other people's personalities, and responding appropriately to the situation at hand, which can often include not responding at all. That is, you don't have to respond to every topic or every post--respond to the ones that you can actually contribute to. Also, keep an eye open for comedy, particularly sarcasm, and take everything with a grain of salt.

Since you're typing your conversation, there really isn't an excuse for flying off the handle or getting upset. You can always walk away from the computer if you get upset.. And, since you have however long you want to type your response, your posts should be comprehensible in the least.

If you're not sure if people are serious or not, especially people who post frequently, then perhaps you should spend more time reading topics than posting in them.

Really, there isn't any need to take your online life seriously. That doesn't mean you should be an ass and make yourself the next pariah, it just means relax.

                              Re: Seeking advice

Dude, don't worry about it. Just keep doing what your doing and it will eventually work itself out and you'll find your place. Everyone starts out as a douch. I did. Funk's first post was about how impressive he felt his penis was. Magus posted nothing but pictures. I remember it was a minor revelation when he said his first words. Now we have this in the pavilion lexicon of worthwhile posts.

You'll find your way. Just relax and go with it.
