OK, this is f'ed up. Today in Michigan there were tornado warnings around Grand Rapids, winter weather warnings just north of that, and high wind warnings everywhere else. There is so much snow and ice on the trees that branches are being ripped from the trees because of the wind. One small tree that has been here since I moved to this house eighteen years ago just snapped in two. Power is out for many people, including a whole town just to my west and at least 18,000 for Grand Rapids residents. Plus, all of the water that has fallen will most likely freeze by morning. We will be lucky to have any standing power lines or trees by then.

Re: On Feb. 16, 2006, War Was Declared Upon Michigan By The Weather
My brother-in-law is from Michigan (Port Huron or somewhere around there). He was more than excited to move away from there. Then, my other sister's boyfriend is from Michigan, and he's in no hurry to ever live there again either.
I'm under the impression that it's not the best state to live in.

It's not the best state to live in unless you're an uneducated hick that loves snow and hates anyone that isn't an uneducated hick that loves snow.Originally posted by MagikMy brother-in-law is from Michigan (Port Huron or somewhere around there). Please explain the toledo thing.Originally posted by FunkI actually like people from Ohio and realize that we share a lot in common. Both states are just bitter about the whole Toledo thing."It's nice to be important... but it's more important to be nice." - ???
