I cant see this selling well anywhere but the US, where the Xbox live users who scream "fag" at each other thrive, and will buy anything that comes out for the system, especially if it gives them a new game to scream "fag" at each other through.

In japan, it will fail. I can almost guarantee that no bomberman fan would dare buy it.

Japanese hate change. you redesign a beloved character, and they will hate you forever. this is why in japan, costume changes in manga doesnt happen like it does in the US comic market. If it does happen, it's mostly just a color modification of their normal outfit (DBZ Goku - DBGT Goku). Some of the more obsessive otaku will physically attack anyone who embraces a character change.
