Yet another topic for the Hill Heads

I'm in the middle of working on my movie website "Red Paper Studios" which will have features about movies in general such as reviews and articles as well as news for the movies that I personally am working on (the first of which is going to be "no longer human", a zombie film that will hopefully debut at Icon26.) The first article I want to have when it opens up is going to be "Why you should be excited about Silent Hill".

So, I wanna get little testimonial...things, so gab about your experience with the series or what you expect of the movie or etcetera, it doesn't have to be positive, anything will be good content and content is what I need.

Uwe Boll had nothing to do with this video game adaptation.

I can't say much about the film. It won't be out for a while, so I'm just hoping for the best.

As far as the games go, I like them all for different reasons. While the gameplay usually isn't all that great, the story, music, and overall atmosphere keep me intrigued. I think 1 and 2 are my favorites, because you can wander through the town.

Every time I play through the first game (and sometimes with the sequels), I find something new that I haven't noticed before. I also like the various endings that can be obtained depending on how you advance through the game.

I've talked way too much about SH lately...

silent hill's great. it really is. but i'd freely admit it's not for everybody. however, i couldn't pick those people by sight. you really gotta play them to know for sure.

There are a lot of people who know about the story and what happens, but never played it.

Whoa!! I didn't even realize this topic was here. WELL. First, I'll link to this article:

                http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=13227

It's okay. It's encouraging but as usual the actors don't say much besides "ZOMG THE DIRECTOR'S A GENIUS." There's some interesting stuff about the sets though.

AS FOR MY THOUGHTS....I gotta collect 'em.

Then throw them down a garbage chute to get the key I need.

it gives me some comfort in knowing that the dirctor of the games, Akira Yamaoka, is helping out with the movie, and he seems very pleased how its turning out.

There's an interview with him and the director of the movie, Christophe Gans (brotherhood of the wolf) in the march issue of EGM. Neat little read, plus Gans makes fun of Roger Ebert (for saying videogames are not a form of art) and even Uwe boll.

However, even though the movie is based on the first game, Harry won't be in it. He will instead be replaced by a woman named Rose. They mentioned the reason for this was because characters designed for games don't exactly turn out that well in film. They spent two weeks on the script having Harry in it, but they realized Harry was motivated by more maternal feelings; not saying he's effeminate, just acts a bit more like a woman. So for film, making the main character a woman made sense to them. I never really played SH1 so i dunno if thats the case.
