Your Least Favorite Song In The Whole Wide World

OK, I think we all have that one song that would transform us into a serial murderer if we were forced to listen to it at any given time. For me, that song is:

"You're A God" by Vertical Horizon

This is mainly due to the fact that this song got played EVERY FIVE MINUTES on my favorite radio station back in the late 90's, which was an alternative rock station, and basically forced me to listen to other music. A few weeks after its release, I had to fight bashing in any radio that was playing this song, and trust me: I HAD TO FIGHT THAT URGE OFTEN. It seemed no matter where I went, this song was playing. I never even liked the song in the first place, but this was like adding insult to injury. I was tempted to park my vehicle in a busy intersection, pull the spark plugs, crawl onto the roof, and demand at the top of my lungs that all radio stations in the Lansing area stop playing this song, but my bastard conscience kicked in before I pulled it off. Luckily, this was a fad song, but I still occasionally hear the first few notes of this song on the radio right before I crank the station dial to anything else and let out a sigh of relief.

On a weird side note: I guess this song really is a double-edged sword for me. Since I was forced to listen to other radio stations, I fell in love with classic rock, which is a love that has lasted to this day. My hate for that song, however, cannot be overshadowed by my change in taste of music, though.

Anyways, while "You're A God" is my absolute LEAST FAVORITE song, here are some honorable mentions:

    "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam
"With Arms Wide Open" by Creed
    Anything by Five For Fighting
Anything by Bachman Turner Overdrive (I USED to like them, but WAY overplayed)

I don't know who performed it, but I've had an enduring hatred (20yrs or so) for "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polkadot Bikini"...every time I hear it I want to jam a screwdriver into my eardrum. Its most recent resurrection is in some commercial for yogurt. My Pavlovian reaction is to slam the mute button on my remote like it's an alarm clock.

Unmelodic and/or whiny and/or predictable male vocals anger me to no end.

So I can't stand Nickelback and most punk as well. Creed can also be considered guilty of this.

I really wanna say "Clocks", but it'd be a lie. SOMEhow, SOMEwhere there's a rap/country/metal song that would annoy me more.

That song, Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold. Every time I hear it I change the station. It's so... grating and horrid. And every time I hear that chorus, with the backup vocals, going "All alone" I for some reason think of three cartoon cats with their arms around each other's shoulders and singing... and THAT'S a mental image I'm tired of seeing.

Agreed, I can't think of any one song...

On the flipside the song could be so horrendous as to be amazing.

One time Nate, Miranda, and I were at a Reel Big Fish concert and there was this opening band. The band sucked and the crowd just wasn't into it. We were up close to the stage, a little off to the right.

So Miranda cups her hands and yells "YOUR BAND ****ING SUCKS!" And the bassist looked right at her. His face fell and he had an exprssion of disapointment and confusion as if to say "...my band?!"

A few weeks later that band was signed.

They were called A Simple Plan.

And now you know the rest of the story!

Hell is for children - pat benatar

I hate this song so much, I refuse to listen to it. If I'm forced to listen to it, I will smash things up until it stops or the whatever is playing the song is destroyed.

                          Runners up:

"I swear" - There have been many interpretations of this song. They all suck.

"Get retarded," or whatever that ****ing song is called. DIE.

"Home Town" from the silent hill 3 OST. Worst re-make EVER. I thought it was a joke at first. It wasn't.

Isn't Home Town suposted to be the series' theme or something? That's what Maggie T. told me.

Noooooo. I'm pretty sure the first game's song is called Silent Hill. Home Town was a god-awful remake that they vomited on the the third game.
