OK, I think we all have that one song that would transform us into a serial murderer if we were forced to listen to it at any given time. For me, that song is:
"You're A God" by Vertical Horizon
This is mainly due to the fact that this song got played EVERY FIVE MINUTES on my favorite radio station back in the late 90's, which was an alternative rock station, and basically forced me to listen to other music. A few weeks after its release, I had to fight bashing in any radio that was playing this song, and trust me: I HAD TO FIGHT THAT URGE OFTEN. It seemed no matter where I went, this song was playing. I never even liked the song in the first place, but this was like adding insult to injury. I was tempted to park my vehicle in a busy intersection, pull the spark plugs, crawl onto the roof, and demand at the top of my lungs that all radio stations in the Lansing area stop playing this song, but my bastard conscience kicked in before I pulled it off. Luckily, this was a fad song, but I still occasionally hear the first few notes of this song on the radio right before I crank the station dial to anything else and let out a sigh of relief.
On a weird side note: I guess this song really is a double-edged sword for me. Since I was forced to listen to other radio stations, I fell in love with classic rock, which is a love that has lasted to this day. My hate for that song, however, cannot be overshadowed by my change in taste of music, though.
Anyways, while "You're A God" is my absolute LEAST FAVORITE song, here are some honorable mentions:
"Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam
"With Arms Wide Open" by Creed
Anything by Five For Fighting
Anything by Bachman Turner Overdrive (I USED to like them, but WAY overplayed)
