Quick tips 2-Sidequests and story missions
Hello again, I hope those that read my first quick tips will find it useful. Anyway i'll split the 2 topics above into 2
Sidequests- All right, sidequests are little mini-journeys that involve a lot or a little. Like rescueing a persons cat or slaying a troll monster. Usually players would be awarded a lot of money or a special item.
-Don't have a player be awarded 10g for going through a dungeon!! Its not right. Balance it. For example: Once you beat all 3 skull dungeons you will be awarded 20g. Incorrect!!. Like this: Once you beat all 3 skull dungeons you will be awarde 80g. Correct!! But seriously it all depends on how hard or easy the sidequest is. If you made a sidequest where you need to beat 1 dungeon, but the dungeon is extremley easy to beat, They should not be awarded a lot of gold or a very rare item. If a hard dungeon was ordered for you to beat, then the player should get a high amount of gold or a rare item.
Story missions: You need to give the player a tip now and then. What i mean is this example:...3...2...1..start. The player talks to a character, and tells you to find the great fairy god. Then he ends.INCORRECT!!! You need to give a location the player needs to go. This is the right way: "go find the fairy god. She is at the top of Chilled-off mountain, in Okie Dokie town." CORRECT!
Now the player knows where to go(unless he/she skips all the text!!)
