RPGM 3 Are you using it?

I just wanted to see how many people are working on RPGM3 projects not just for the Junk Contest but real true projects.

I currently am, I dont own RPGM2 but that is typical for me since i couldn't stand the graphics (I seem dumb saying that since I play games with worse graphics) and it hurts my eyes.

I wont say 2 is bad but i couldn't see myself taking it as seriously as 1 or 3...


I really sound dumb talking about the graphics but I really wish they kept with 2D...

I've gotten back on track with my RPGMaker3 game, "Whispers in the Woods".

I plan on finishing it as soon as I can.


I don't have that much to go.

You know, you can make 2D games with RPGM2. I did one already with Tetris, and I'm working on another 2D game right now. I love 2D games as well. As for your poll, I'm just using RPGM2 at the moment.

I still like the old skool feel of RPGM1. It has some limitations (compared with 2), but it has plenty to work with.

2 is definately my favorite but I do like 3, and I will make at least one more game with 3.

I wouldv'e picked option 5 "I love the **** outta this baby!" but there was no option 5 !

I think making the "Garbage" game really opened my eyes big time to 3's possibilities, and I think its time to touch on a genre that I don't think anybody's considered yet.

Let's just say, It's not the game that rules, you rule the game!!!

3 is so anti climactic it is sad.

I am indeed making a game.

And I am putting real effort into making it as fun and obnoxiously offensive as possible.

I've figured out a few tricks and know the system pretty well.

But I just can't get past how weak it is.

2 spoiled me. I got so used to being able to do anything that I just can't give it up and RPGM3 will be a one game wonder for me.

That one game will be a wonder, but I am now taking screenshots for every RPGM3 game on the Pavilion and must say... They All Look Alike!!

I said in the "Dream RPGMaker" Thread that 3 sucked because it lacked a "Unique-ifier" like 1's Anime Maker or 2's VFX Editor.

If it had any way of adding anything unique to our games I'd love it.

As is, it merely an amusement.

Something to be seen, played with, and discarded.

I just can't see ths game lasting like the first two have. People are still finding impressive new tricks for both. I feel 3 is going to be tapped out soon.

It will have a short, brilliant, carreer. Then be forgotten.

I'm sure of it.

I am using 1 right now, as you might gather from my sig. I have all three though and i must say that 3 was a major disappointment. I wanted it to be more like a 3-D RPG Maker 1 with some elements from 2 in it but it isn't what i wanted in a RPG Maker game. Agetec and Enterbrain or whoever makes these things now, have yet to give me the perfect RPG Maker.

Perfection is subjective. 2 to me, is a near perfect RPG Maker. Sometimes perfection is not your dream, but what is best for all.

It seems though that 2 is not actually best for all, since a lot of people out there can't make sense of it. 1 seems like it has the widest appeal, I mean I've never heard anyone here say that they outright hated RPGM1 (or if someone did, it doesn't happen that often) while I have heard numerous people dissing 2 and 3.

Personally though, I agree with you, 2 is the closest to perfection so far.

i remember paying alot of money for some games for the playstation, but for some reason - perhaps becuase ive been buying games for cheap there days - i think that rpgmaker 3 is too expencive and i havent seen it more then once. was 65 canadian before taxes wich is well over my budget.

as a side note, i prefer working with rpgmaker 1, even if it will be an eternity before i finish a game.

Yup. But then again, how many kids will actually like going to school and learning? I think 2 is being dissed because it gives that "back to school" vibe.
