    Hmmmm...

Is it a 3rd party card or a Sony Card?

Ya can't trust them 3rd party cards!

    Sorry to hear this.

I hope it can be retrieved.

    Good luck.

Does the same thing apply to a Max Memory 16MB card? If so, I need to find a big Sony one really quick...

I have a MAx. Messed up my real one, whille it worked.
Always just copy/delete/whatever one file at a time, and copy and delete rather then using the move command. Still, keeping backups is nice.

So I should be good, or should I invest in a sony one just to be safe?

                Re: OMG...

Do you want to entrust your precious pieces of video game art to a memory card created by the same company that makes the max drive, which has the capability of rendering your card useless?

I generally say use the 3rd party if you really can't afford the official stuff. 3rd party devices (Not just memory cards), especially the fancy ones, have a tendency of screwing you over.

Ehhh... Great. However, I live kind isolated from someplace I can buy a sony memory card that is more than 8MB (which I have a feeling I'll need more space than 8MB)...

                    Re: OMG...

Just get one 8MB Sony card for this game only.

You can fit 3 saves on one card.

                    It's worth it.

Unlike other games where if you lose a save all you need do is download a "Power Save" or something, this is Art.

If you lose your own work there is nobody else who has it from whom to get another copy.

I strongly suggest having 2 different Sony Cards and back up on both fairly regularly. I usually switch cards every save. That way if there is a lightning strike while I'm saving or creating there is only one card connected to the PS2 to be destroyed.

It's more work, but really... if you think of that as work, you'll never hold a job! [/sarcasm]

By the way, you did not say... How much work did you lose?

I know what it's like to lose months of work and that is why I started the whole 2 cards thing.

                    Peace.

                    MOO!

                      Re: OMG...

I haven't lost any yet... Crap. Not cool. >_< You mean the save only takes up a limited amount of space, and when you're out, you're out? That's crap! I want to make a big one...

Oh, a question. If you remove party members and add them in later in the game, will they have the same stats and equipment they did when they left?

                        Re: OMG...

You'd have to split your game into more than one file if you run out of memory and need to continue.

And yes, if you remove a party member and add them back later, they keep their stats/items.

...unless if you use event codes to change their levels, stats, and inventory.

But if I split it, does it start everything all over again? I mean, I don't want two seperate games for the same one... It doesn't make sense to get halfway through then start back at level one!

There's a thread further down called "The long game trick" which explains everything in depth. From what I remember when I read that thread, you save your gameplay data, then load the new file and choose continue.
