    Time for my dumb question

Can I have one graphic replace another at some point an event?

    Like...

I have one of those hero stones with a sword turn into the one without one?

    I doubt I can...
but i don't want to get rid of the idea if I'm overlooking something.

    I'll outrun those zookeepers eventually...

I think you can have two events practically on top of each other. When things change you turn off the display for the first event, and turn on the display for the second one.

If you want to make it a permanent change you set two modes for each event, one before things change, one after. Then when things change, you change the modes for both, and if the change takes place in the event's location, then you use the refresh display code. I think you can do that, at least.

This can be done with tables and desks.

Use the Decorative Display Off command. The decorative display is the object on the table.

I don't know if this works for hero stones as I have never used them.

      But it's worth checking.

A good trick to get events completely on top of each other, instead of settling for almost, is to change the model for one event to invisible. These can overlap objects and events completely. Then just change the model back to whatever you want.

I got a lot of cool effects this way.

      I hope that helps.

      Peace.

      MOO!

The Decorative display off command works on the hero stone. The weapon sticking out of it disappears.

I had no idea you could turn off the display of objects on pedestals and stuff.

          Cool.

Yeah thanks... I had no idea that this would so many others...

                I'm glad I asked!

Thanks! I had a really lame workaround in Junsei Koumori: Tainted Sun (the heros left their swords instead).

I just happened to have set this up in a game I'm working on a couple of days ago. Honestly, I didn't know if it was going to work or not, until I tried it.

I also used the weapon trick, he's a sword and shield character (the warrior) but he gets a great sword when he draws it from the pedestal in the shrine.
