    Any tips for Diploma Exams?

Since I'd rather waste time here than study, I thought I'd merge the two.

Anyone have any useful last minute tips for writing a Math diploma? Tomorrow's the day and I can't help but feel overwhelmed from trying to remember every skill.

I'd especially like to hear from Funk or Terr.

I had no idea how beautiful you were.

You are talking about a high school diploma, right?
    ...and that's why.

This is yes. 30 or grade 12 pure math. I'm fairly sure I know how to do everything, I just need some general test taking hints because I'm begining to panic.

I was good in Math. I got an A in AP Calculus and got a 5 out of 5 on the AP exam. I was the only one in my class to do so. The only advice I can give is probably not helpful for last-minute cramming. The key to math is to learn the concept not memorize the examples. All mathematics really just boil down to addition. The most complex equations in the world can be reduced to a bunch of additions if you know what they're really asking. Once you understand the concepts that well, all math is a breeze. I love math because it's the one thing in all of mankind's limited knowledge that is without a doubt universally true.

But what about the chaos theory? >_>

"All a series of additions". Well that's a simplified way of looking at it. But I'll still be glad to have my graphing calculator.

It's basic math depending on the state you're in. The hardest thing you'll be doing is probably intermediate algebra (graphing a line and factoring polynomials). I didn't have any Trig or Calculus type questions.

Judging from how you respond to people around here Gus, I think you'll do well.

For last minute cramming all I got is make sure you know any formulas your going to need. That's what killed me in Statistics.

Math was never something I studied for. Of course it was never really something I needed to study for as long as I had done the homework assigned. That was usually enough for me to grasp the concept.

I don't quite understand what you're doing though. Studying to write a math diploma? Are you involved in some kind of underground forgery scheme?

Ah yes, we'll be getting a formula sheet and a z-score table. It won't include some of the little helpful formulas I've been relying on like the unit circle or how to find period, amplitude, midline, or how the equation for each function is set up.

Trig was my worst unit test. So that's where most of my worry is chanelled. I also made the mistake of often memorizing the process of solving certain kinds of problems rather than understanding the concept like Pandamoe said.

For trig I had this awesome little chart that had all the angles and the cosine, sine, and tangent for each one. It was totally awesome.

Just relax. If you know your stuff, you know your stuff. Half the battle on diploma exams is getting past the "OMG 50% OF MY GRADE"

I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck.

                    And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope

Thanks Jehuty. I'm gonna try to get to bed early, here. And actually eat breakfast.
