    Internal and Shared Variable Problem

Now I've had RPG Maker 3 for a few months now, and I really haven't gotten into it until a month ago. I've haven't had the time to browse through the forum but my question is how do Internal and Shared Variables work? If any body knows any information, please tell me.

Yeah, you set them up so if they equal an amount then things are allowed to happen.

So say if you had a person who says "go find me a key." He will have a val condition branch with a variable in event code (shared). Set up what he says under the amount that it equals zero. After you retrieve the key have the variable amount go up to the next amount in order. Then under the next amount (you may have up to 4 as I recall) have him say "very good I shall open this door for you." Go play around with it and I bet that you may start to understand it better. Then the internal is the same except it only concerns stuff within his event code so you could not have him know that you got the key with an internal.

So an example is set up a val condition branch with internal variables. Have it equal zero and have him say "you cannot leave practice until you beat me." Do a battles characters. Then a battle branch. If you win then change the internal to the next amount. Under the next amount have him say "you may go home now"

I have a hard time explaining it so I hope this made sense.

You don't have to browse. There's this feature up near the top called "Search" where you type in something like "variables" and it'll show you a list of topics that you might be interested in.

Sorry I can't answer your question instead, but I haven't used RPGM3 enough yet to answer that without looking it up.

There is no difference between the two types of varaible except how they are organized on lists.

They can all be used for any purpose you want.

A search will turn up lots of examples.

If you have a specific question (that one is pretty general), feel free to ask.

        Peace.
