    Re: Copyrighting

anything anyone creates has an immediate and legal intellectual copyright on it. it's protected as long as you can prove when you made it, and that you made it.

      Yup. Key word there, PROVE.

which is easily done. if you're worried about someone stealing your idea, burn it to a CD, and mail it to yourself. don't open the envelope. keep it sealed. that postmark and seal is your proof.

and if it ever comes to you needing to prove you made whatever first, then you can go to a judge and have them open the envelope and check the contents.

That's a good idea for future use.

              Re: Copyrighting

It depends. Poor man copyrighting (valk's idea) HAS held up before, but usually in cases where there is sufficient evidence anyways. I would make at least two copys postmarked if you're worried about it. But really, a single copy and - if this site keeps records, records from here or any other site should be fine.

But honestly, I don't think there's much chance of anyone claiming your game is theirs. Random good rep points for people above me. Yay!
Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

the pavilion does NOT keep records of when games are recieved. and prior to me taking over, most records of who made what are lost as well.

I don't see why anyone would be too worried over an RPGM game...

unless they make their game in the future, let's say they stole the idea fro remote control, tseboath, jester's hunt, and dynasty project. people who have put their work into those ideas could easily be stolen by a big or small game company.

not the high profile RPG Maker games, there's definate proof of when and who made them.

especially remote control, which won an EGM contest.

Yes. Do not be afraid. I'm not an undercover agent working for some juggernaut of a game company! Give me your ideas-I mean, games! They will be safe.
