    Spectre

    Format: RPG Maker 1
    Genre: RPG
    Characters (so far)
CBS: Going to play with making my own, however I am not sure that in the end it will have a cbs, this means it may have the default.

Spectre: The main character with a hidden power and an unlare history. Weapon: Guess, sword Race: Find out during game, he is believed to be Human.

Vector: Character who also has the hidden power but understands it clearly. Weapon: Sword and fists Race: Find out in game, he is believed to be Human.

    Moves
Infinite Power: A skill that leaves all enemies destroyed and all allies unharmed. Could only be used with complete LWP(MP).

    <Story>
Spirit Form: Causes the user to go into a form that he goes through things and can only be seen if he wishes. Can only be held for a few moments then the character will black out. A form only seen when someone goes over there limit in LWP(MP). They are thought to be dead after this but have just drifted away in space.

This game is about a kid, who after time finds out that he has a hidden power inside. He goes to a school that teaches you to fight the monsters who have dangerously started to take over the world. This is required in all Golden Eagle Towns around the world. They however have an enemy, who also has trouble with monsters but does not want to take away from regular education decides to build a robot army to protect them. They will however allow for the children to go to a fighting school if they want. This causes a tournament to be held every year, that allows student fighters to enter and compete. While Spectre, the main kid, is about to enter he finds the world being attacked by monsters that are different from the regular ones.

He decides to help the army of Golden Phoenix fight them instead of participate in the tournament. This makes his Rival from the Civilion Sentry, the only other place that has towns(on this world map), mad because he was ready to take him out.

As he follows some of the soldiers he finds him self in the middle of a torn apart city with tall monsters that seemed like robots. They were about to take out the army with a powerful move(un yet decided what) when he unleashes his hidden power and fires a large blast at it which shuts it down. The news people catch it on tape and show the world. He then becomes a hero and wakes up the next day in a hospital bed with his parents near by.

He then finds out that these robots, as would probably be thought of to come from the Civialion Sentry army, was actually from another planet. They knew this because the programming was different and the civilion sentry was now helping them fight.

Here he comes in contact with someone named vector who said he knows about his power and how he did it. Spectre wanting to know more and seeing himself on tv asks questions. Vector not answering but saying when the time comes he will know leaves. He his found leading an army against these still fighting Tall Robots.

This makes Spectre follow him and join in Vectors army where he sees vector use the same power. Just when everything seems to be going good Spectre has a dream about a spacecraft called the Holy Phoenix and an uncountable amount of spider robots(Notice Robots once again) taking over and destorying everything. He to save his freinds unleashes a move called Infinite Power. This devistating attack left his own team unharmed and the spiders completely destroyed. It also left him floating in space because he had to go into a form called Spirit which made him go through things. What he was doing in space shall be revealed later.

    That is all so far.

    <Questions>
    1. I plan on making my own field with the doungeon editor, which was brought to my attention as possible by a fellow pavilionite. Is it possible to put outside pieces after going into a place that also contained outside pieces?

    2. Does the story sound ok? and What are your questions if any?

Yes, but if you mean going inside of a house with interior pieces then no. I for one used exterior pieces to create insides in my Monkey Brothers game. So then in that case, yes.

I don't know about the sypnosis, sounds kind strange to me. Then again, I've never really played anything that was similar to your story. I have nothing against it. The only advice I can give to you is try to make how the story is told to be solid and make sure the events are logical and make sense.

CBS: Going to play with making my own, however I am not sure that in the end it will have a cbs, this means it may have the default.
Well, my custom battles take up losts of memory (which is the real downfall to creating CBS'). If you're planning on making an epic game with a CBS be warned, you may need a ton of memory cards to store extra scenario data. I'm using a custom battle system in Monkey Brothers which my battle system consumes a lot of memory (around 8000-10,000 memory of scenario data depending on which area). It really depends on how your battle system is, but if it is like mine, you'll need some extra memory cards.

      Re: Spectre: New Age

Thanks, hedrum that has helped me out. Unfortunatley I have given out to much rep in the last 24 hours.

Update: Full name is now Spectre: New Age
Nothing new to add to the story but I have completed my beginning map except for a few secret areas I have to add. It is looking good. I have about 12 cities/towns/castles on it. I think that is good for being my first full game that I am creating with any maker and my first time using RPG Maker to make something besides messing around with a few of the tools. However I have run into a couple more questions.

      1. What is a scenario for? I don't understand what it is for. I guess I just need to go look it up in the book. I got it used but it still came with a book, which was totaly sweet.

      2. Why does my enemy not show up? I have created an enemy but he is not showing up in the monster placement.

First off, if you're not used to RPGM1 yet, I'd definately hold off on creating a CBS.

Scenario is for the things that happen in your game, such as story sequences, boss battles, and NPCs.
        2. Why does my enemy not show up? I have created an enemy but he is not showing up in the monster placement.
Not sure what you're doing wrong. Are you going with random or nonrandom battles? Are you sure you set up the encounters for the map?

Random. How would you set it up for the map? Remember my map is made with the dungeon editor.

            Re: Spectre

Well, after making sure you saved the monster, you have to go to an option on the main menu (with the options like Items, Magic, Characters, etc.) called I think Monster Appearance. Select Edit, choose which map you want the monster to appear on (note you can't have monsters on the default world map). Select the monsters you want for the area. I think you can have maybe 6 or 8 per area. You'll also want to set the frequency of the battles (I recommend the mark right after 0, as anything higher is too frequent for some; go higher only if you're doing something like higher encounters in forests or something like that), and what music plays in those battles. Save and exit. The battles should happen when you're playing through the area now. One important thing to note, when you're test playing, holding down O prevents yourself from running into any monsters.

There is another option available within one of the upper-left options in the main menu. I think it's located in Game Settings or something like that, and the option is called Monster Appearance (not to be confused with the option you use to actually place the monsters). You can change that between Auto and Manual. Auto, the whole map is filled with whatever monster settings you place. With manual, you can have different sets of monsters appear in different places on the map. You create the section by pressing X to start the cursor, drag it over the area you want monsters, and X to finish.

One more thing. When you're choosing which monsters appear in the area, you're not setting a specific group like in RPGM2 or 3. Rather, the game chooses from that list completely randomly. I'm not completely sure on this, but I think if one monster is put on that list in more spaces than another, that monster will appear more frequently. So, say, if you want to have goblins be most frequent of 5 monsters appearing, put the goblin on the list 2 or 3 times.

Anyway, hopefully that helps. It's been a while since I've used RPGM1, but I think I got it mostly right.

              Re: Spectre

That is my trouble. It does not show up in monster appearance. I will look at it tomorrow. I think I can probably figure out what is going on since RPG Maker 1 seems to be pretty easy if you spend time playing with the different futures.

Update: I am now working on making the buildings interiors connect to the towns, and the towns connecting to the map. It is working like a charm.

I have also figured out the monster thing and it is now working very nicely.

New characters:[Also look at old characters. They have weapons and race now, or soon since I am about to update that]

Linny: Old friend of Spectres. She also has the power of vector and spectre. Weapon: Gun Race: Phoenix

Zack: Old friend of Spectres. He does not contain the power but has built up quite a few muscles. weapon: Fists Race: Phoenix

Rigor: Humorous person that hates Spectre because of spectre's power. He went and created his own race of spider robots. Weapon: Staff Race: Klig
