    Re: Clerks II

You know, I like Kevin Smith, but I dont consider him to be one of my favorite movie markers. I think that his movies are trite, for the most part. Some people view him as a real groundbreaker. I just dont see it.

Clerks was funny but damn, a sequel?? I mean you cant even think of it as sequel really because every other movie he has made is basically a ****ing sequel to this.

        Re: Clerks II

Everything but Jersey Girl has been a spinoff, not technically a true sequel.

Aside from his Clerks Animated Series, this is the first sequeled movie he's really done.

That said, I hate Rosario Dawson. I want her to stop being in movies.

I didn't laugh during the trailer. I just wanted to see everyone else's reaction to it.

I got burned out on Kevin Smith after seeing Jay and Silly Bob strikes back.

I used to be a HUGE fan. Dogma was meh to.

I loved the original clerks, mallrats, dogma and J&SB strike back. The animated series was ****ing awesome. Also, Kevin Smith wrote one of the best daredevil stories ever (Guardian Devil).

I don't love everything he's involved with (didn't even look at that Jersey Girl BS), but I'm willing to give this a shot. Plus, didn't he advertise Clerks II: Hardly Clerkin' at the end of Chasing Amy? Damn, that's taken a long time.

The animated series was pretty hit and miss.

                    there were some goodens though.

Randal: Can I ask you a question? If you were Steven Tyler from Aerosmith for one night, and you could pretty much do any woman alive, who would you pick?
                      Dante: Oh, Caitlin.
Randal: Her? See me, I'd pick Liv Tyler.

                        Guardian Devil is brilliant.

This looks like a Serious Case of Pandering featuring Kevin Smith.

smith is a superior dialogue writer to 99% of those on screen today. even jersey girl, which was certainly below average, had great character interaction through dialogue.

movie shouldn't have a sequel. almost makes you wish they'd kept the original ending.

and the cartoon was pure gold.

The original ending would have destroyed the movie before it ever gained a fanbase.

I was perfectly content with "The Flying Car."
