    Literature people, help me!!!

    If you are good at literature and might know Tolkiens 4 part definition of a fairy tale could you tell me what it is and explain it? I need it because I have realized I can't find it in my notes for school, while studying for a final.

    Now for classic tragedy. I have the 5 parts but I don't know what is included in them
    1. Introduction
    2. Rising Action
    3. Technical Climax
    4. Falling Action
    5. Conclusion

    The four parts of fantasy (according to Tolkien):

    Fantasy - imagining unreal things but endowing them with "the inner consistency of reality";
    Recovery - the ability to see things more clearly after experiencing the fantasy;
    Escape - i.e., does not treat what is "real" as inevitable;
    Consolation - the happy ending, or "eucatastrophe."

      Thanks funk. That is a great help to me. If I turn in this paper I am making then I get 10% extra credit on my final that has already got me mad because we should have had it before Holiday Break.

      I still need an answer for the second question if anyone can please help me.

        I hate having high school finals after being off for 2 weeks for the holidays.

        I should be studying for an english semester exam I have tomorrow for both college and high school credit, but eh, I'll just end up winging it.
