Dan Hsu is right on the mark. and seeing how defensive, and then offensive games.net/gamepro got about it, it's quite obvious he was talking about them.

P.S. It has come out through various conversations (public or otherwise) that, in my editorial, I am not referring to Game Informer, IGN, GamePro, GameSpy, or Play Magazine. I can't personally vouch for any of those organizations, mind you. But they aren't the ones I was specifically talking about in this editorial.
Who does that leave PSM, OPM, Xbox Mag, Nintendo Power, GameSpot??

You could write up stories on cute puppies, or interview actors on what their new movie is all about, they are all journalism because you are making a record of events or facts.

I think gamepro has to be one of the magazines who sells stories, they took way too much offense to the article. so whether Dan Hsu was targetting them or not, they're looking awfully guilty

I wish some other hobby magazines would take a stand against this practice. coughnewtypecough

This is like a hot sweaty teenage girl pillow fight without the teenage girls or the hot sweat.

                    Or the pillows.

Hot sweaty teenage girl pillow fights like that only happen in adult videos. In real life, you're more likely to see the 200 lb. high school freshman throwing pillows at the girl with the unfortunate amount of orthodontic equipment stuck on her face.

I wouldn't be surprised. I've always despised Gamepro for their lackluster reviews and thier ability to spoil games before they are even released.

That being said, thumbs up to Shoe.

Amongst the EGM rabble, Shoe is definitely alright, especially in contrast.

He's right on the money, too. In spite of the fact that the games industry is still a baby, it will never get the respect it seserves unless games journalism acts like journalism. Same goes for gamers.
