    Gradius

How many of you remember this old series?

I personally enjoy it, even though each game in the series has all kicked my ass.

I just tracked down a copy of the Gradius III+IV bonus pack. Supposedly they are both arcade perfect ports, but I can't confirm because I only played Gradius I & II on NES and Gradius III on SNES. However, I can easilly see that the SNES version cut out alot of content from this version.

Anyway, I royally suck at these Gradius games, but I keep playing them. Possibly something to do with the whole classic feel of videogames, that some just seemed impossible, making it even more tempting. I think these games are very fun.

I remember Gradius III. Hell, i played it two days ago.

I really liked how you could customize your power-ups. Get rotating options with the charge beam, and you have a poor man's force-field. Plus, it can kill bosses quickly.

Gradius V was beyond awesome. I could do the most amazing thing with the hold options. Like beat the first boss in under 10 seconds.

I've got a copy of V. I used to play it all the time, then I burnt out on it. It's a great game, though.

We also have some of the Parodius games, which are hilarious.

I might grab Gradius V in a couple weeks. It definitely looks good.

I might grab it too. I got this package (Gradius III + IV) to relive old memories, and because it was only $6.

I owned Gradius III and The Interstellar Assult. I enjoyed them both very much. Kinda miss them now. I actually was thinking about looking for III-IV during my last trip to "Big Kids", but I went and got something else.

The only experience I have with Gradius is the Vic Viper in ZOE2 and the remixed theme song on DDR Max 2.

John, you should check it out but only if you are a fan of these types of games. (Old school shoot 'em up). The game has a TON of challenge, not just challenge but the games are VERY hard. (At least the ones I played). Beating the stages gives you a great deal of achievement.
