    a theoretical question

Not saying this will happen, but, if I leave my job, I owe them the $3k of relocation money. What if I'm fired? Do I still owe them that?

If you have a contract, it should be in there. "If it ain't... you don't" I believe is the general rule with contracts.

    Don't ask them though...

    Peace.

    MOO!

What Rodak said, but I would guess no unless you were to do something completely unreasonable that forces them to terminate you.

They pay you money for you to move to where ever the job is.

I imagine in his contract he's not allowed to leave for a certain amount of time, otherwise he pays a relocation fee.

I'm guessing that if he leaves, that leaves more work for other people, and would cost the company more money? I don't know.

It all depends on the grounds in which you were employed. A bits more information can make for a better answer.
