    Codes, Cheats, Unlockables

i never use cheats(or at least VERY seldom).

i like it better when i actually unlock what i'm after, rather than having it handed to me with a cheat code.

also, it would've been interesting if rockstar made players complete gta before the codes could be activated. how do you think that would've gone over?

IT would not of hurt sales, but it would get people angry, and do you mean beat the game on story mode or like 100%? beating story mode is reasonable enough though, some of the missions would just be more annoying.

Having the cheats in there and accessible from the beginning is good. They're there for people like me who would rather experience the game once in its entirety than play through multiple times to get everything but those who like to unlock things through hard work can. Also for the unlockers, if something were to happen to their save they wouldn't necessarily have to work from scratch when they start again.

I don't cheat on any linear type game's unless I'm completly stuck. However, on games like Starcraft where cheating only affects a single game, I cheat far more often.

In GTA I cheat all of the time. It's not like I play those games to work on it. I save the non-cheating for better games.

Although in some RPGs I'll use an infinite gold cheat once in a while.

I don't think codes are bad as long as they are meaningful. For example unlocking a character is a cool type of cheat, but god-mode like codes just make games too easy.

I love cheating in GTA 3. Nothing like putting in codes to turn the entire city into a warzone. Then I either give myself a huge arsenal or just wing it with my bare fists. Hell yeah. Good times there, but you only get it right with GTA3. VC and SA aren't nowhere near as cool with those codes. If you have a GameShark or Action Replay you can shut off the police, too. It gets annoying when everyone else is firing rocket launchers and throwing molotov ****tails at you and the cops ignore them, but you get busted for firing back.
